Jarash is 40 km north of Amman, and is 550 metres above sea level.There are remains of settlements from the Bronze age, Iron Age, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Umayyad and Abbaside periods... Later, jarash became a member of the Decapolis.. Jarash was on the main communication route between Damascus and the Arabian Peninsula during the reign of the Umayyad Caliphs.

The famous staircase to the Piazza del Campidoglio in central Rome. Thousands of people pass through this spot every day.
The Capatoline square is one of the most iconic locations in Europe. It was designed by Michelangelo.
The Palazzo Senatorio is the location for Rome's town hall.
The Capitoline Museums are off to the right and are some of the best in Italy. I didn't go into them, - maybe next time.
Off to the left is the hideous Altare della Patria.
