Acartophthalmus (ἄ-κάρτος + ὀφθαλμός, for its pubescent eyes) biology is almost unknown. Sexual competition is regulated by territorial control: adult ♂♂ gather on organic substrates waiting for ♀♀, moving swiftly back and forth and beating wings, usually with the smallest ♂♂ flying away. Larvæ are saprophagic.

The Flickr Blog galleries also get tons of views. I like getting in these galleries because there is a person curating the gallery. And the images follow a theme. I think these Flickr blog galleries are my favorite feature for browsing new photos. I also often post my photos in the comments section of galleries when I like the theme.
Search terms can drive views, but the only one that has gotten a really high count is World War II.
Finally, being used to illustrate blogs is always fun. I use the Common Attribution license and that makes it easy for blogs and news sites to use my photos. I have found some really interesting blogs by seeing them in my stats referral section. My most popular blog photo is the Drone and Moon photo. Drones with cameras have been very topical over the last year. Also my photo of the Crooked House on the beach gets used in environmental blogs. There have been others used along the way too.

This analysis attempts to explain why light is limited in its flight through the demi-'vacuum' of the 'foam' of space at a precise set speed limit of "299,792,458 meters per second"* in the form of a 'three phase' answer (with end notes as comments), pulled from the shelf of common knowledge and sense as led by the key concepts in Science from which the explanation of the Universes perpetual operation and expansion as a process can be seen in the meta as one vast 'integrated circuit' writ large.
There is a 'ingredient' that creates and thus forms the common atomic denominators in the micro to macro physiological energetic gears running as subsystems to propel The Cosmic Show forward and backwards through the foam and fog of Space Time we know to be driven on Earth by the atomic energy of the nucleus of the three families of bacteria that I have identified (to complete several vexing puzzles) which comprise a Cosmic literal as well metaphorical barrel which is constituted, 'stocked and locked' the with the requisite recipe for the phylogenetic trees perpetual existence and growth owing to being a cog in the Suns Dark Material photovoltic gear box or barrel as analogy may be. The natural source of any and all exponential growth checked by its shrink, as Dark Energy which atomically link the food to combustion chains by means (hydro)carbon storage means to name two to hold life so as to bring quarks back in 'good time' to their respective Suns as well dark/black holes in the quantum dynamic mechanical process of connecting you and me as "we are all connected" by means the gears our atmosphere to the Earths economic activity over history which in turn forms part of the natural inherent limit on the speed of light which is a function of the atomic 'surf' of the 'foam of space' that enables the lights ride from its source to its destination by means the Quantum Tunnel of particles making and breaking as waves, exposing therein a large piece of this puzzle that shall explored further through the conceptual prism in terms of 'hull speed' as limit to light speed.
When probing the question of the speed of lights limits one quickly and repeatedly hits intellectual impasse and obstruction called Dark Matter and Energy which defines the cosmological constant and the singular ability to cause curvature in light. Thus Dark Matter has become evident to my mind as to why light travels slower in a liquid in the micro, and also perfectly explains in the macro over time and space why light passes so slowly through distant galaxies verses so comparatively fast right past them.
Bacterial expansion and growth can be observed and measured over Space Time to account for the 'Spooky Action at a Distance' of celestial bodies, and should get rid of 'special relativity' if Bacteria is accounted for as Dark Matter in math terms which are clear and becoming more focused with more examples thundering into clarity daily in need of addition to this ever growing tract. If the General Unified Theory is to be successfully reconstructed from the currently constructed model so as to be a reality based version that checks with Theory in addition to the ingredients of Nature and facts of Matter by constructing a micro/macro perpetual motion machine to resemble the Universe such as the one I reside, requires the basic building blocks upon which it operates to be produced by Bacteria as the agent of running the Nitrogen cycle such that the Oxygen cycle also functions to produce Carbon thus life as we know it is off to a flying start with some subatomic particles to be understood to perhaps travel faster than the speed of light, as suggested by the latest experimentation/loose plug/threads of Theoretical Physics of the days of yore; which I am still following below as a matter of academic interest.
My reasoning is as follows: If neutrinos travel at the speed of light. There MUST be a faster moving object to possibly conceptually cause motion beCause in order to see/be 'LIGHT' there must be a Newtonian CAUSE acting upon that which powers the quanta and photons, and electricity that is contained and travels that IS the 'light' in each and every instance over time and space.
The action of some phase of the gamma cycle 'spooling up' the energy needed which I believe is a release of Dark Matter combusted in a 2 cycle movement which I theorize act as the precursor and cause of what moves the PHOTONS to the ON position which enable us to observe the phenomenon that is 'the light', from any sun, bulb, or source according to Laws, equations notions and historical group (open) mind frame of reference of Newton/Einstein/Bethe/Hoyle. It is a process-- if one goes 'thought experimental' on each possible instance of light. It is a carbon and water fest with out whacking the photons with a FTL spark there is no light. I suspect the faster the FTL 'flash' the more action on the photon 'bang', and hence the brighter the light -- is in some bulbs/stars are brighter than others.
InSide Note: This FTL aspect of the 'big picture' presented here is the only one the there is any level of self doubt about but is presented anyway for the sake of 'putting it out there' conceptually as part of this picture if it makes any better sense a result at some future date or with better resources than mine.

I'm calling "Dark Matter™ for the purpose of the construct of this version of the Universe the family of bacteria that binds N20 to carbon, completing-enabling that critical side of the combustion equation. By coming to understanding how Dark Matter allows the Energy of the core of cyanobacteria quarks to be 'beamed' by light as the atomic 'brains' of bacteria as bands of electric light and water falling water into the en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primordial_sea , I am able to 'abide' to see the role of CyanoBacteria kick starting breath on Earth, and keeping it going as the proto-stuff of hydrocarbons, now and forever in a N2O bound loop with the Sun as its 'atomic twin' by means of what Steven Hawking and Co. describe as the power of the unpaired quark forever seeking it mate with great power over the distance of Space and Time such that the rejoinder of quarks is the 'back hammer/jackhammer' of matter getting re-bonded such that birds and fish can find the way back to their 'atomic square one' for the purposes of migration, and internal combustion technology is possible in by this line of material logical reasoning.
From which the following the atomic bonds of the food chain as I have come to understand its works and construction by doing the organic chemical reverse engineering of the worlds food supply (or some portion thereof) as a for instance, to compute the "food math" (of water per ton to make/bind a commodities Mass Equivalence/composition) that reveal the binding forces and stored in matter that are the result I hypothesis of: GAMMA/XRAY CYCLES™ working as the atomic binding force of the mass of the universe that also provides its movement with energy, in a closed loop system re-powered by the hydrogen/helium burned by the sun as light + the carbon/nitrogen/oxygen cycles and the supremely important hydrogen bond being broken up and down the food chain, as a ladder action holding the show together an a return run back to the Sun, in the completion of carbon/nitrogen cycles, working in conjunctions with all the forces and a stew of the elements, to bring us life as we know it past present and future; is my bid to describe the missing cosmic cog that runs the 3-4 ring circus of reality, like a watch, which we can time our perception and measure what I attempt to make sense so that science can find a subatomic on the same 'wavelength' that beats light and heat to the 'on' via this atomic chain reaction of logic which rambles/soars to/fro near book length in anther space in time which goes on to explain in detail why birds flock and don't crash, and fish schools move in synch via the radio power of this far fetched but mildly plausible 'radio'logical scheme. Perhaps it is the speed of light 'radio power control' that runs the fish and birds; but that does not so much matter as the fact that they 'are what they ate' which puts them on the same 'wavelength' in conjunction with their genome. Some disagree and say Dark Matter is immaterial to science. I respectful disagree, and attempt to provide additional information in order to assist with understanding how my view came to be on this subject and if there is not some common ground as more data is generated in understanding how perspective can never stay the same as per the logic contained in a draconian application of the en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorentz_transformation to a unwillingness to see the shadow of comprehension of the 'Big Picture' as being painted by reflections on the flip side of the micro being organic in Nature and, therefore the Universe.

Globalist Analysis Previous Next.Ending the Rich-World Bias in Global Economic Statistics.The current economic crisis is called the “global financial crisis.” But is the term “global” justified?Just consider how the four years since the onset of the “global crisis” look in the eyes of the non-Western world:In sub-Saharan Africa, the average per capita real growth rate was 1.5% a year.In Latin America, it was nearly that high, and in Asia, it was 3%.These growth rates are respectable, even impressive, by historical standards. Yes, in Europe, North America and Russia, growth sputtered — and in many countries (but not in all years), rates of GDP growth turned negative. Global output declined by 2% in 2009, but it rebounded by 2.7% in 2010, and is estimated to have risen by least as much in 2011. Do these seem like “global” crisis numbers?The rebound of global output was dampened in the last two years because the crisis affected the richest part of the world. The richest part, by definition, produces more goods and services than the other parts. If its output goes down or stagnates, it tends to drag world GDP down with it.The global economic statistics we use show a tremendous Western, or rich world, bias. There is an implicit weighting scheme in the calculation that is seldom recognized. It is called “plutocratic” weighting, and it gives a greater weight in the overall calculation to richer countries.A simple example illustrates how: Imagine two countries, A and B, that have the same population, but A is twice as rich as B. Let’s assume country A’s output drops by 10% and B’s output increases by 10%. The overall (“plutocratic”) growth rate would be negative 3.3%. This is the extent by which the total volume of goods and services has gone down.But let’s now look at this example from the point of view of individuals who live in the two countries. Suppose for simplicity’s sake that everybody in country A (and also everybody in country B) is equally affected by her country’s performance. That is, all people in A experiences a real income decline of 10%, while everybody in B experiences a real income increase of 10%.When we aggregate across individuals (and their presumed feelings of betterment or deterioration of well-being), it turns out that as many people register an increase as a decline, and that, in percentage terms, both the increase and the decline were the same. The “Frontier Markets Index” includes some of the richest countries in the world:The index includes countries such as Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE. On a GDP per Capita basis, Qatar is the richest country in the world with Kuwait and the UAE in the top 10. For frontier market investors looking to capitalize on countries in the beginning stages of growth cycles, these are not your usual suspects. In fact, while MSCI’s Market Classification Framework includes “economic development” as one of its three main criteria, this only applies to defining developed markets. For both Frontier and Emerging markets, there is no economic development requirement at all.As of April 2013, the index is heavily weighted for Middle Eastern countries with Kuwait (24.35%), Qatar (14.96%), and the UAE (11.58%) taking over 50% of the weighting by themselves, and Nigeria taking another 14.4% weighting. That means these 4 countries manage to make up 65% of the index despite there being 25 countries represented in total.Argentina is the lone representative from the Americas with a weighting of less than 5%. Africa is represented by four countries (Nigeria, Kenya, Mauritius and Tunisia) and together have around a 20% weighting. A continuous frieze of figures surrounds the body of this Mycenaean sieve jug. A scene of a man grabbing a bull by the horns seems to allude to the idea of bull leaping, a ritual or athletic performance that originated in the Minoan culture on Crete. Bull jumping involved literally grabbing the horns of a bull and flipping over its back (see the engraved Minoan seal depicting a bull leaper). The activity may have been practiced by the elite, perhaps even in rites of passage. On the opposite side of the vessel, just behind the bull, is a winged sphinx—with the head of a woman and body of a lion—who is wearing a pointed headdress and holding a pomegranate branch. The pomegranate was often related to fertility, life, and rebirth, but it could also be associated with death. Although the precise function of this jug is uncertain, the strainer spout suggests that it was designed for a liquid requiring filtering, perhaps beer. Most decoration on Mycenaean vessels consisted of extremely stylized motifs of marine or floral origin. Around 1400 BCE, however, Mycenaean potters developed a less common figural style, which may have been inspired by fresco painting. This type of pottery, referred to as the “pictorial style,” became progressively more popular, but accounted for only a small percentage of Mycenaean pottery production. This particular vase is attributed to Painter 20, who decorated Mycenaean pottery with figural scenes sometime in the period from 1250 to 1225 BCE. Like all artists of this early period, his real name is unknown, and he is identified only by the particular stylistic details of his work. Three vases can be attributed to this artist, all of which depict scenes with bulls.

Dinotrema (δεινός + τρῆμα, for its large metasomal fossæ) is Alysiinæ largest and trickiest genus, endokoinobiont of Anthomyiidæ, Phoridæ, Platypezidæ, differing from Aspilota by short paraclypeal fovea far separated from inner ocular margin. Its possible subgeneric recognition needs EPA; sensu Zhu & al. 2017, treating sg Synaldis as genus would render Dinotrema paraphyletic whereas it lost v1-Rs+M probably more than once.

The Day/Night Band (DNB) on the NOAA/NASA Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership environmental satellite recorded the event on 18:45 UTC, or 02:45 local time in Sichuan.
The preliminary analysis is that the bore was propagating southwards, perpendicular to the axis of the frontal feature. The most prominent banding occurred around 3:30 AM local time, which was about 45 minutes after the DNB came across. The photo from 2:59 AM local time shows a weaker, more diffuse brightening that is more consistent with what the DNB saw. I was watching from our back porch at this American Kestrel atop a Royal Palm several hundred feet away. He was so far away that I had to use my 10X42 bird watching binoculars just to identify the species. Suddenly, he took off flying in my general direction, over the house and on to the other side. I went into the house and looked out one of the front windows to discover him on this utility pole across the street. I grabbed my camera, which I have set up just for occasions such as this, and went outside. I shot several dozen frames. Unfortunately, they were all pretty similar and I kept just this one.
The American Kestrel is the smallest and most common falcon in North America. It has a roughly two-to-one range in size over subspecies and sex, varying in size from about the weight of a blue jay to a mourning dove. It also ranges to South America and is a well-established species that has evolved seventeen subspecies adapted to different environments and habitats throughout the Americas. It exhibits sexual dimorphism in size (females being moderately larger) and plumage, although both sexes have a rufous back with noticeable barring. Its plumage is colorful and attractive, and juveniles are similar in plumage to adults. Based on appearance and behavior it was for many years considered a member of the primarily European and African kestrel clade within the genus Falco, but DNA analysis shows the American Kestrel to actually be genetically more closely related to the larger American falcons such as the Aplomado, Peregrine, and Prairie Falcons. Though the species has not been renamed as a result of these genetic analyses, it is not actually a kestrel in the phylogenetic sense. Instead, a process of convergent evolution to fit a similar small prey niche in the ecosystem as the true kestrels has left it with similar physical characteristics and hunting methods. The American Kestrel is a common bird used in falconry, especially by beginners. Though not as strong a flyer as many other larger falcons, proper training and weight control by the falconer allows many American kestrels to become effective hunters of birds in the size range of sparrows and starlings, with occasional success against birds up to approximately twice their own weight.

i've always loved drawing trees. When i was a teenager i used to sit in various parks in Grand Haven, Michigan, and draw the twist of branches and the wrinkles of bark. The texture and the endless variety amazes me still.
These trees were inspired by an analysis of my handwriting, done when i was also a teen. It was a very accurate analysis, pointing out the exact age i was when my parents divorced and which parent i leaned to most at varying times in my life. i still have a cassette tape of the analysis somewhere, but i no longer have a tape player.
At my first show, the Around the Coyote Festival in September of 2005, this was the first piece of art i ever sold. Jon Johnson took it from me and hung it expertly in his home.

Today's ODC made me stop and think about what I would say I'm good at. Nothing came to mind immediately Pretty sad. But then I started rethinking this question and with prodding from my husband chose some words to fit. First off, I really am good at Scrabble, but then of course I should be. I've played it way too many hours. I'm a great speller and am driven insane by misspelled words so this is somewhat of a curse. Editing comes natural to me--back to the spelling curse. My friends tell me I'm a great friend, and I'm seeking to be a really good Nana and photographer. So that's today's self-analysis. Hey, the ODC is better than going to a shrink.

The quantity and quality of throughfall and soil leachate were measured 18th May 2009 in a Larch and Pine combined with deciduous stand of different ages situated in Glendalough, County Wicklow.
Soil leachate was collected using an aluminium sieve and an upside-down umbrella. The umbrella held upside-down for the purposes of this survey may include some aberrational results due to uncontrolled precipitation and also some sweat in there.
Free precipitation pH varied from 0 .01 to 4,997,236,783,044,305,000, plus or minus an inch or two, standard deviation was acceptable at the normal deviation average. The following tone is a reference tone recorded at our operating level.
Throughfall was more acidic/alkinine than a freefall rather than a restricted i.e. umbrella-less precipitation. The closed canopy layer was quite open considering how closed it was, or could have been given different data, on another day, in another world.
We intercepted about 17% of the the free precipitation. The canopy acted as a blasted interference sink for small amounts of subject matter, and as a source for Mn, K, Mg and Ca. The quality of the throughfall and soil leachate varied according to the attention span, but was considerably dense overall.
The hydrogen ion input into the soil was greatest at soil level. The major part of the nitrogen load was deposited on the heads of the testers, necessitating tonsorial and sartorial adjustments.
Part of the spring and summer nitrate load was leached, despite adverse warnings. However, during lunchtime all the nitrogen was efficiently taken up and immobilized.
Basic indications of K, Ca and Mg, as well as Mn, Fe and Al, were ingested. Manganese was refused, especially at last orders. The output of magnesium in the urine was greater than its input as deposition.
The output of K and Ca from the ice and lemon, (0-15 mm) was also greater than their input as deposition, but a major part of these nutrients were subsumed as stony deposits in various internal organs. Probability of litigation is 49%.

JvH -Stands up well, continuous readings show a softening effect on tungsten carbide, abrasive and corrosive, repeat contact causes massive nerve dysfunction.
The analysis by electron microscopy is a very important tool for some diseases of difficult diagnosis. The alveolar soft part sarcoma is a rare disease, but diagnosis is difficult by traditional techniques. For that, in many cases the Transmision Electron microscopy is a ideal tool to stablish the precise diagnostic. In this micrograph we can observe polygonal crystal structures localized into cytoplasm of cells obtained of alveolar sarcoma.
