Portugal 2008

~ A water filled Champagne glass showing my way home. ~ (upside down)

A new week is here, and so are we Flickrites to establish the next generation of image takers in this "IMAGE ERA" we're in.

I hope everyone's weekend was 100% good and that they can only cheer up those that had not such a nice weekend.

Spread positive possibilities my friends.

(archive image from 2006, 2009 image upload later today.)

I decided after exactly 4 years to revisit this amazing capture.

Taken during blue hour (after sunset) with a Fujifilm X-T3 in video mode at 4 fps, auto apeture and iso settings (single frame @ 4K). This event occurred ~7:58PM on 26 Aug.

This positive strike, based on thunder (occurred about 1 sec later and it was LOUD: www.flickr.com/photos/79387036@N07/51417257579) and no multiple stokes. This equates to a distance of ~1000 feet. Specks in the air are illuminated raindrops and since they show little movement, one can assume that this bolt lasted only milliseconds. Based on the thickness of the cloud to ground bolt, it went from behind me, overhead and then in front of me. The loudness of the thunder was due to the fact that the thunder reached me at the same time from a large section of the discharge.

The next day I looked for any signs of the strike but nothing was found. I believe it hit a fence like the darker one at left. The barbed wire most have helped spread the charge over quite a distance.

Taken at 16mm (or 24mm in Full Frame camera format).

Vampiric Lust: A Tale of Immortal Desires ❤️🎃

On this Halloween night, passion ignites in the depths of the dark night, much like the relentless thirst of a vampire for his sub. The connection between them runs deeper than blood, a bond that transcends the ages.

As the moonlight casts an eerie glow upon their never-ending story, their love knows no bounds.

It's a tale of desire and longing, where the eternal dance of dominance and submission unfolds, a hauntingly beautiful passion that defies the boundaries of time, making this Halloween one to be remembered for all eternity.

One of 4 Leopards (including 2 cubs) we saw on one afternoon game drive in the Seronera area, Serengeti, Tanzania.

The cat was sitting absolutely relaxed on a little mound beside the road. A few moments later the cat tried effortless to hunt a curious warthog.

Seronera is really a hot spot for Leopards. We saw at least 5 different Leopards in 4 days. We had even more sightings, but were not sure, if that´s a different cat or the same we already saw.

Hi hi: la sindrome è contagiosa!!

Another Milky Way shot from Meteora - Greece. Well that's a special one for me. When we arrived at Meteora with @pphotographia we started the timelapse set up. Panos was preparing the @digislider rails and trying to find the best view angle. I found the opportunity to get a still shot, so I set up my canon with @triggertrap remote control. The sun was barely visible in the west but it's luminosity was still affecting the sky. The Milky Way had already risen and the stars were popping up one by one. I shot at low ISO, about 2000, for 20 sec in order not to get too much overexposed. The result was amazing! Capturing the stars just before total darkness.

You can find Greek Skies in Vimeo and YouTube.

(EXPLORED) I promise this will be the last picture with "sweet" in the title. haha

Look at this Pongo face, every time I take a picture of her my voice raises an octave, like when photographing babies & toddlers!!

(There's a few shadows here that bug me a little, but otherwise I really like this innocent expression and hanging out pose.)

I was trying to get a shot of this wild poppy which has sprung up from nowhere in my garden & just as I clicked the shutter the bee appeared.........Drat :)

Spotted in Explore #464. Thanks for letting me know Len.

Took this image of a bee pollinating a cactus blossom, if you look closely you can see the very small sphere's of pollen sticking on the bee's hairy legs, what an amazing capture of Nature's way of Pollination for future cactus blossoms.

As I look upon You I am changed

And though I fail, Your faithful love remains

As I sing and worship You

I find again no words describe Your love

I'm in awe of the wonderful water drop reflections I see on flickr, Len Janes ( www.flickr.com/photos/amazing-capture/ ) has some fantastic ones. Just a hint of one here but more by luck than judgement!

Rare for Nebraska in November that is....

There was some risk of severe weather that afternoon. In fact.... way out of season severe weather. There was just enough instability by afternoon to allow the thunderstorms to develop, strengthen, and even spin up a few tornadoes in the 4-5 p.m. CST time frame.

I had a 5 hour drive back from Missouri and was exhausted. Plus I had to work in a few hours so chasing this storm was just not possible that afternoon. But I did venture out to capture a few snaps of that afternoons events.

Pictured here were the cells effecting the Red Cloud to Clay Center Nebraska areas. I was just to the south of the I-80 Minden Interchange. Found a cozy spot without any powerlines and pointed my camera to the east southeast.

Some amazing captures to finalize my severe weather photography for 2016

This was a capture at the VirginAtlantic Clubhouse in Heathrow T3 just before my flight. It was only recently updated and was just oozing complex design and trendy stuff all over the place. No one was using any of these desks and were all at the bar and restaurant drinking champagne but I just loved this specific frame as it was so simple in my mind but so complex in the way it presented itself. It is very different from my norm but I really enjoyed this one and hopefully do a few more of these different types of photos over the next few months as the course work is getting very complex and interesting. There is reason behind how I lined these up and structured the verticals and linears.

I haven't recently added any course work images so have created a new album to add all the stuff I have submitted for my first stage exams. This one was based on a theme for "Design of Urban Trend" and I had to submit it this week so hopefully they will not be too harsh with the review.

I am still in Arizona melting in the heat but have tried to take time to keep an eye on all the amazing captures on here from my friends. Hopefully back to normal schedule next week and unfortunately had no time to get out while here and to be honest I wouldn't know what settings to use it this ultra bright sunlight! (That and its way to hot!). Thanks for all your great feedback and support through my journey so far my flickr friends.

Thailand, is a fantastic place, filled with wonderful friendly people, great shopping, food, things to do and see. Water abounds at every turn, inlets, rivers, bays, ocean. The history here is ancient and fascinating.

This was the most amazing capture from our canoe, a scary observation of this muskrat that that could harm them. They moved back up and proceeded to the opposite side of the lodge. The muskrat was distracted by us in our canoe and the goslings got out the other way.

It is a great place for kids to feed and look at the thousands of pigeons flying inside the compound.

During my recent early winter visit to the Canadian Rockies, I visited Morants Curve one more time for early sunrise photography. An hour before I took a single shot of the mountains along the right half of this frame as the constellation Orion was above Pinnacle Peak, the highest peak you see here.

I shot this area with one of my Flickr- friends Joalhi who has been there so many times over the years. She has the most superb photos of the Canadian Rockies in all seasons I've ever seen and I must add she knows the area better than anyone I know and knows the timing of where and when to be for every shot imaginable in the Canadian Rockies.

The three mountain peaks in the background on the far right from right to left are Fairview, Saddle and Sheol. The three to the middle right are Mount Temple and Pinnacle Mountain and Eiffel Peak.
