SD 82 NE CLIVIGER BURNLEY ROAD Holme
6/24 The Ram Inn (including mounting block) and No. 399 17.12.1968 GV II
Inn, and attached house. Later C18, altered. Coursed sandstone rubble with quoins, stone slate roof. Long rectangular plan, the inn forming the left half, the house apparently added to the right. All 2 storeys, with flush mullion windows: 3 and 4 lights on each floor of inn, with a doorway between these at ground floor; 2, 4, 3 and 4 lights at ground floor of house, with doorway in centre, and 4, 3 and 4 lights above. Quoins to the inn mark the external junction, and here is a 4-step mounting block on the pavement, and a flagmast attached to the wall above. At left end of inn a continuation (perhaps formerly a stable, altered), has large coupled vertical rectangular windows. Three chimney stacks on ridge, one at right gable. Rear has some flush mullion windows like those at front, and various additions. Interior of inn altered. Inn forms group with Nos. 395 and 397 to the right (q.v.).

These altered altoid tins are Christmas ornaments. I will teach my painting students how to do them starting on Monday when we get back from thanksgiving break. Each part is hand painted and the inside has a stand out element. (I used clear pony beads to hold the cardboard piece away from the back. The two kitten ones go to my nieces. (They get purple ornaments every year!). The rest are for the demo for class. I made a template of the inside of the tin, the inside of the lid and the front of the lid. That makes it easier to paint and we just line the tin with the paintings.

Here we have yet another mind-blowing build from Fraslund, this time for An Altered Fate, the sequel to To Whatever End and second book in the Echoes of Imara series. In a complete surprise to absolutely no one, it took the award for Best Medieval Building in the Castle theme at BrickCon 2015.

These were made from plastic Easter eggs. I spray painted with copper paint and assembled them with a steam punk look. Old hair curlers from the 50's made them with movable legs. Spinners for arms, spools and bobbins for their head area. One sits on a spool with a heavy weight base of washers on a jar lid and sitting on a vintage spool. The other sits on a baby food jar with spare parts. lol

Except for the black/gold and red inside binding, the fabrics are hand-loomed silks from Damascus, Syria. The gold leaves supply are getting low. The little black flower, to which I added tiny gems, is from Hobby Lobby. This pair of slippers were given to me by Granddaughter about nine years ago. I save them for special trips. I took off a bazillion beads b/f I covered it w/fabric. The shine of sequins I used to cover raw edges of the color changes doesn't show. This was fun, but don't look forward to the second one. I used to have trouble w/the second show when, in my youth, I covered shoes w/brocade and made hats to match. These might make one more trip to Puerto Vallarta, which may be my eighth and final annual trek.

The parish church of Saint Peter, whose tower is commonly known as "Alter Peter" - Old Peter - and which is emblematic of Munich, is the oldest recorded parish church in Munich and presumably the originating point for the whole city.
