Taken from a chalet my wife and I stayed at about one month ago. Stunning views, I just wish there had been some clouds to work with.
What is interesting about this waterfall is that it typically is just a tiny stream of water (You can see it on the left side of the ice formation).
However in the winter when there is rain and snowmelt and then refreezing, Alpha Falls transforms into this gorgeous formation of ice.
Very easy to get to, within 5 minutes are the trailhead parking it is certainly a worthwhile visit this time of year.
(One caveat, the trail is typically ice covered when the falls look like this and we wore our micro spikes for some sure-footed stepping).
Just for you Alpha I go out in this 5F weather with the 10iv. Hope this makes you happy--me with frozen fingers!
