Old Stockton and Darlington railway alignment at Shildon, now a pleasant walkway.
The first steam hauled passenger train ran along here on 27th September 1825.
One of the most powerful ley-lines in the country for its length, it runs from Fountain Green Square in Bermondsey (from where the picture was taken) across the river to Wapping Pier Head, and thence to Hawksmoor's St. George in the East.
St James in Bermondsey is a later addition to the Southern end of the alignment.

(B) Phylogenic tree based on deduced amino acid sequences of CPC-like R3 MYB proteins [SlTRY, TRY, CPC, ETC1 (NM100020), ETC2 (FJ972652), ETC3/CPL3 (AB264292), TCL1 (FJ972675), TCL2/CPL4 (FJ972681), Os1g43180 and Os1g43230] were aligned with a multiple alignment program (Genetyx ver. 16.0.2 software, Genetyx, Tokyo, Japan), and a dendrogram was created using clustering with the Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Mean (UPGMA). Branch length indicates relative evolutionary distances. Numbers above branches are genetic distances based on 10,000 bootstrap replicates. Distances are shown as the p-distance.

These are just a sampling of the process. This is the first location I locate the surface gauge. Then I check at the top of the seat tube, below the lug. All's well, then move on to the down tube near the bb shell. Then a check at the other end, near the head tube. All's well, then I go from rear of seat tube to front end. Check!
Then it's a check with the head tube rod and cones installed, so I can see if there's any head tube twist. This is done with a jack screw device under the center of the head tube, to keep any bow out of the main tubes. That rod and cones is pretty hefty.

This was the second section for a video clip I was making of doing an alignment. I didn't finish out the video, due to some computer crash glitches.
We repair trucks and automobiles, auto air conditioning, wheel alignment, radiators, brake servicing, and oil changes.
These wind turbines are near Moldava, about 26 km away. Twice a year the alignment allows this photograph to be taken from my home. Since weather is not always cooperating, this is actually very rare opportunity.

All five of the bright naked-eye planets are visible in the western sky after sunset in April and May of this year. The planets visible are, from top left to lower right, Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Venus, and Mercury. The Earth is visible in the foreground, making it 6 planets visible!
Final alignment specs. The suspension will settle after being driven, so camber and caster will get better as the suspension settles to its ride height.

To align the chip in my Starlight Xpress camera I built a jig on which the camera could be rotated by putting the 2" extension tube on some rollers. It is a bit 'Heath-Robinson' but it worked very well.
Part of the Alignements de Lampouy in Brittany, Northern France. Again, these alignments are a few thousand years old. We found them because of a brochure in the camping registration area -- there was a map of sites in the area, and we noticed tiny menhir icons on it. As we drove around on the back roads, there were road signs as well. Read my travelogue for trip details. September 2007.
