A short walk near Hebden Bridge which starts at 'PECKET WELL', where there is a stone War Memorial...

I discovered a couple of years ago that it looks as though it is in 'alignment' with Heptonstall Church (middle) and Stoodley Pike Monument (far distance), the latter of which was re-built to celebrate the end of the Napoleonic wars in Europe 1815.

(Ironically I took this picc on the eve of the Summer solstice too, but am unaware of any 'connection' - perhaps just 'happenstance' :-)

Walking Pal, John, sidles past foxgloves and nettles... We didn't walk the whole distance by any means (only about 5 miles) and my other (walking) Pal, Dennis was close behind (HWW :-)

The sites at Carnac form the largest collection of megalithic stones in the world. More than 3,000 prehistoric standing stones were hewn from local rock and erected by the early Celtic people of Brittany. The alignments are believed to be related to astronomical observations at the solstices. This image is of an impressive upright among several smaller stones of the Ménec alignment.

Bits of very cheap jewellery, you align these and put a wire through them. One would be 1 inch long. I placed it on pink paper.

This alignment of arches and chapels, along the aisle of the church of Saint Bavo, shows the harmony and beauty of Gothic art. It will also close this small series and I we’ll have to choose the next theme to share!

The bright star on the lower left is actually the planet Saturn. The middle star is Altair and the top right star is Vega. The line up in a perfect diagonal line above the Temple of the Sun. This images is full of natural wonders. Stars, Planets, Milky Way galaxy, air glow, and our home.

This old fence finial reminded my of our little planet!

This image came together really nicely - there is a flow from bottom right to top left - starting with the small pebble, supporting the bigger rock, the flow of rocks leads to water flowing out to see, the silhoutte of the Surfer heading out towards the breaking wave - moody skies, this has to be one of my favourite images taken so far this year.

The moon sets on the Christmas Star, took a few shots to get the right alignment on this. The star is atop a distant cell phone tower and the moon aligns with it.
