420 menhirs ! Et encore, comme le dit Yannick Lecerf : « Ce nombre représente les seuls blocs qui émergent au niveau du sol forestier et l'on peut raisonnablement s'attendre à un dénombrement plus conséquent. » Fascinant !

We recently got a hand-me-down KidKraft Deluxe Garage Playset. The elevator was missing piece and the string would not attach, so we designed a stopper in TinkerCAD and 3D Printed a fix on the MakerGear M2.

This Sundog appeared because plate-shaped hexagonal ice crystals in high and cold cirrus clouds were refracting the sun's rays like a prism. The crystals are all aligned in the same vertical direction for a sundog to appear.

This coloured patch of light is at the same elevation as the sun and formed at an angle of exactly 22 degrees. The red part is always nearest to the sun.

In the early 1970s, CB radio was legalized in Switzerland. The boom also led to many disruptions and illegal use. BAKOM (Federal Office of Communication) and the PTT (Post Telephone Telegraph) had their hands full tracking down illegal radio operators and illegal installations. The postal service drove through the land with loop antennas on vans for tracking and BAKOM had fixed stations.

Werner Griesser in Heiden was one of these CB radio operators, but hardly anyone knew that he collaborated with BAKOM. He was sick and was almost always at home. On a knoll, east of the village of Heiden, at 845 m ü.M./2772 ft ASL. When the radio equipment company Zodiac was founded in Sarnen in 1969, he worked there in cramped conditions. Without knowing it, he was exposed to radioactive radiation through a wall. He had a device at home that he used to make his own tablets for treatment. Werner's adventurous life was never known. During the Second World War, he buried radio transmitters at the border in Ticino for the army so that Allied bombers could recognize the borders with Switzerland. After the war, during his service in the army, he had furtive contact with an American radio monitoring station in Friedrichshafen. This station was under water in Lake Constance to protect it from interference. The antenna was on land, a large circle with a small cart moving around on a rail to align the wires. So far no one has been able to tell me his date of birth or the year he passed by.

The photo shows the front and back of a so-called QSL card to confirm a radio connection from Werner to the Diego 75 station on December 21, 1974. The aim of the radio operators was to obtain many of these cards. To get to know new people and to accomplish radio links that are as far as possible. For this purpose unauthorized amplifiers were sometimes used, which interfered with other radio services. Although the frequencies around 27 MHz belong to the shortwave band, they were not so suitable for long connections. The honest radio operators waited for good weather conditions, looked for an elevated location and used a well-tuned antenna. With the occurrence of cell phones, CB radio lost its importance.
