Father and daughter who didn't notice me taking this shot. I was shooting from waist height and hoping for the best. God bless the X1's silent shutter and ability to zone focus. I loved the gir's t-shirt, which seemed like it might be an ironic commentary on their relationship. Or perhaps not.

I seem to have broken all my wine glasses, so I used what I had.
Strobist: Alien Bees B800 with 20 degree honeycomb facing straight up and wine glass sitting on top of honeycomb. Flash fires up through the glass. B400 with 10 degree honeycomb pointing at bottle label. Shot in my living room with the lights off.
Both flashes fired with Alien Bees Cybercync remote triggers. I had been wired in at first, but was unable to get the second flash to consistently fire as there was not enough spill from the flash to activate the optical trigger.

I had heard rumors from a local farmer that his farm had been buzzed by UFOs recently, and I surely didn't believe it.
But, curiousity got the best of me, so I drove out there with my camera and set up. After several hours of waiting, sure enough...here came the alien barnstormers.

I find it interesting that they translate 境外 basically means foreigner, in Chinese, to both "aliens and overseas Chinese." The Chinese doesn't not mention anything about "overseas Chinese."
Liz and I hiked along the upper Yangtze River (which at this point is called the Jinsha 金沙江) in about a day and a half. It is an absolute must see for anyone going to Northwest Yunnan.
