Alien: Covenant est un film de science-fiction horrifique américano-britannique réalisé et co-produit par Ridley Scott, sorti en 2017.
Il s'agit du sixième film de l'univers d'Alien et du troisième réalisé par Ridley Scott. Il s'agit d'une suite directe à Prometheus (2012), ainsi que d'une préquelle du film Alien (1979). Le film met en vedette Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride et Demián Bichir dans les rôles principaux. L'action se déroule au début du XXIIe siècle, dix ans après la disparition du Prometheus.
Alien: Covenant marque le retour du xénomorphe au cinéma qui avait effectué sa dernière apparition en 2008 dans Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. Le film raconte les origines du xénomorphe tout en introduisant une nouvelle espèce extraterrestre, le néomorphe.
Alien: Covenant a reçu un accueil positif de la part des critiques presse mais a été décrié par les fans de la saga, qui réitèrent au film les mêmes reproches qu'à Prometheus (notamment une intrigue peu convaincante).
Au box-office mondial, le film a rapporté environ 240 millions de dollars de recettes, ce qui lui permet de se classer à la deuxième place des meilleures recettes de la saga Alien (derrière Prometheus qui avait rapporté 403 millions de dollars).
Alien: Covenant is a 2017 science fiction horror film directed and produced by Ridley Scott and written by John Logan and Dante Harper, from a story by Michael Green and Jack Paglen. A joint American and British production, the film is a sequel to Prometheus (2012) and is the second installment in the Alien prequel series and the sixth installment in the Alien franchise, as well as the third directed by Scott. The film features returning star Michael Fassbender and Katherine Waterston, with Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, and Demián Bichir in supporting roles. It follows the crew of a colony ship that lands on an uncharted planet and makes a terrifying discovery.
In 2012, prior to the release of Prometheus, Ridley Scott discussed the prospects of a sequel and new trilogy, and the film was confirmed that August. Principal photography began on April 4, 2016, at Milford Sound in Fiordland National Park, New Zealand, and wrapped on July 19, 2016. Effects houses Odd Studios and CreatureNFX provided the film's makeup and animatronic creature effects. Scott said that the first cut of the film was two hours and twenty-three minutes long, and was eventually edited down to the two hours and three minutes of the released version.
Alien: Covenant premiered in London on May 4, 2017. It was released on May 12 in the United Kingdom, and on May 19 in the United States. The film received generally favorable reviews from critics but underperformed at the box office.[6][7][8][9][10] The film grossed a worldwide total of US$240 million against a production budget of around US$111 million, not including marketing costs.

Alien She, curated by Astria Suparak + Ceci Moss, is the first exhibition to examine the lasting impact of Riot Grrrl on artists and cultural producers working today. A pioneering punk feminist movement that emerged in the early 1990s, Riot Grrrl has had a pivotal influence, inspiring many around the world to pursue socially and politically progressive careers as artists, activists, authors and educators. Emphasizing female and youth empowerment, collaborative organization, creative resistance and DIY ethics, Riot Grrrl helped a new generation to become active feminists and create their own culture and communities that reflect their values and experiences, in contrast to mainstream conventions and expectations.
Riot Grrrl formed in reaction to pervasive and violent sexism, racism and homophobia in the punk music scene and in the culture at large. Its participants adapted strategies from earlier queer and punk feminisms and ‘70s radical politics, while also popularizing discussions of identity politics occurring within academia, but in a language that spoke to a younger generation. This self-organized network made up of teenagers and twenty-somethings reached one another through various platforms, such as letters, zines, local meetings, regional conferences, homemade videos, and later, chat rooms, listservs and message boards. The movement eventually spread worldwide, with chapters opening in at least thirty-two states and twenty-six countries.* Its ethos and aesthetics have survived well past its initial period in the ‘90s, with many new chapters forming in recent years. Riot Grrrl’s influence on contemporary global culture is increasingly evident – from the Russian collective Pussy Riot’s protest against corrupt government-church relations to the popular teen website Rookie and the launch of Girls Rock Camps and Ladyfest music and art festivals around the world.
Alien She focuses on seven people whose visual art practices were informed by their contact with Riot Grrrl. Many of them work in multiple disciplines, such as sculpture, installation, video, documentary film, photography, drawing, printmaking, new media, social practice, curation, music, writing and performance – a reflection of the movement’s artistic diversity and mutability. Each artist is represented by several projects from the last 20 years, including new and rarely seen works, providing an insight into the development of their creative practices and individual trajectories.
