A follow-up on the progress to the Warrior Alien head sculpt. ALIENS 86 - 1:18 scale. Some smart phone shots showing the sculpt from several angles - still a work in progress. Should have it complete tonight.
The torso you see here will be a total re-sculpt....presently it's a casting from the Revoltech figure. Helps with scaling/proportion. The lower abdomen piece however is a cast of an original sculpt from my 79 Alien. I can get away with using it for the Warrior but the upper torso will be a complete, original re-sculpt as I hate borrowing parts when I have the ability to create them myself these days....
If you have the ability and time, sculpt it.
I still have to borrow articulated joints and extremities such as hands from time to time...especially with the human figures, but when I can sculpt it myself I will do so...
...and with the Warrior alien finally moving forward, others are sure to follow...Ripley, Marines, Newt, Burke, Bishop.....Queen(cough,cough)....

Sculpt update on "the Beast" - Alien 79 rework of the creatures head sculpt.
Working on some updates to the skull, the maxilla's depth, the teeth and a new lower jaw. The teeth are all being sculpted similar to the fashion of the larger egg layer xenomorph I've posted updates to recently. The size of this piece is considerably smaller than the egg layer so rather than the teeth being sculpted separately, the entire set is a single piece. I have more work to do with the lower jaw, it's teeth along with details to the "lips" if you can call them that . I'm making molds of each of these small pieces as I go along. Very fragile and I don't want to have to sculpt these pieces over again if I can help it. I'm using Aves FIXIT sculpt so it has strength but even at this scale, it can break easily.
More to come - gotta take one project at a time as I slowly get back into a routine that's been off course now for almost a year. It's not been easy to do. Just need to get along with it.

This green vinyl alien stands 14" tall with three toed feet and four finger on each hand. He is heavy with a slit in his tummy and in his head that opens up and is hollows inside perfect for little hiding places like alien internal organs. The alien is marked in the middle of his back, "©1997 R. Marino ~ Made in China" He looks like your average alien, even with a slight asian look with a flat face small nose and lips. I haven't been able to find out who he is or who R. Marino is either. He is in good condition with dark black eye and lips. If anyone has any ideal who or where it came from please comment.

Scanned image from black and white negative. One frame of an unfinished film found in a second-hand camera bought at a flea market in Ohio in Spring 2006. Not sure what it shows but it looks similar to published photos of alleged alien encounters from back in the 1940s or 50s. Would welcome comment from the Flickr community members.
