The alien is looking for his base with a map of the local public transportation system, which strangely resembles crop circles.
We won the first prize in a local youth photo contest with this series. :-)
Lighting: strobe (Nikon SB-24 on manual) on a 3m cable from the left, held by a friend.
Model: Wolf
Makeup: Alexandra Kühnel (it was her first time making a bald head cap).
The only editing I did was removing the eyes, smoothening the transition between cap and skin a tiny bit and changing the eye color.

We knew that the Aliens would invade Vermont. Like the Martians in the War of the Worlds they finally succumbed to some disease caught from Tom Cruise...
Sculpt update on the Alien Warrior - 1:18 scale - ALIENS 86. Completed the small scaled head sculpt of the Alien Warrior. The first attempt had the head too wide, the second was too short in length....the third though is just right smile emoticon The lower jaw is a borrowed cast from my ALIEN79 beastie. I plan to create some variants similar to the 79 version. Now - back to sculpting the upper torso and plenty of head sculpts that need to be painted. ‪#‎aliens‬ ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎warrior‬ ‪#‎queen‬ ‪#‎hive‬ ‪#‎sculpture‬ ‪#‎art‬ ‪#‎monsterinthebasement‬
Robbie was visited in the middle of the night by some other worldly creatures. They took him aboard their ship to see how he functioned.

Looking through my "waterdrop pics" I discovered this alien face. Since the rest of the picture was rather dull, I livened it up with som colours.
Took this photo some years ago through a filter and adjusted the colour saturation to give an eerie, alien look to our moon.
Border Collie meets Rainbow Trout in a water trough! I wonder what thoughts are going through their minds? They seem to be watching each other intently,,,
Seriously, enlarge this photo and look at the bright saucer-shaped object in the sky (top left). No edits. All EXIF data intact.
Sculpt progress on the Alien Warrior - 1:18 scale - ALIENS 86. Continuing with the sculpt build of the upper torso and I'm happy with how it's turning out. It's a slow process and many have asked why...well,for one, I'm using epoxy that has a four hour cure rate and most significantly I only have a couple hours in the evenings to work on it and even then not every evening...if this was a full time gig the warrior would be completed in no time. More updates to come! ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎aliens‬ ‪#‎warrior‬ ‪#‎xenomorph‬ ‪#‎alienday‬
Interesting test of Alien Skin's new software release, Bokeh. This is a photo I took last summer at a Rays game of Shields pitching against the Red Sox. I was shooting with an Olympus E-3 with a 150mm f/2 lens. Because of the small sensor there's a lot of depth of field, even at f/2. So you could read the Game Stop signs, for example. Using Bokeh the background instantly became much creamier and more attractive. Amazing piece of software. I downloaded the demo to give it a shot and was really surprised at how well it worked. The image really pops now.
Of course, now the background is noiseless and the foreground is pretty noisy. Not something the average viewer might notice, but photographers would pick up on that pretty fast. It would be less of an issue with my D700 since there's so much less noise at these ISO levels. I loved that little 150mm f/2 lens, though. It was so light and small for something that effectively served as a 300mm lens. Of course, as the photo shows, it was effectively working as a 300mm f/4 would work on my D700. Dropping out the background with a small sensor is pretty tough. A 300mm f/2.8 would do a much better job on the D700, but at a significant weight penalty. So many tradeoffs. Still, it's kinda cool that Bokeh works so well.
The EXIF data got lost when I combined these two shots, so here ya go:
Camera: Olympus E-3
Exposure: 1/2500 sec
Aperture: f/2
Focal Length: 150 mm
ISO Speed: 1250
