Nice lunch in the sunshine yesterday in the back garden despite the noisy neighbours with old chums Tony Pene and Dave.
I was taking my morning walk when I just happened to see this little guy in the shadows at the base of a tree. I starting snapping pictures, and then realized I had my photo for today's challenge. I froze, he ignored me and continued snacking, and I was able to get over a dozen pictures before he moved.

Returning from shooting some amazing clouds over Cootes Paradise, I heard a noise coming from the garbage can (trash can for my American friends) near my van. I came upon this Dragonfly in East Moline, Illinois today (7-28-06). I was on a business trip and decided to stop by this scenic spot along the Rock River to take river shots, but found Dragonflies instead. I soon forgot about the river.
When I came upon this one, I just snapped away. I asked that he stay so I can take pictures. I pleaded. So he was polite and stayed there for a few moments.
When I uploaded these onto my computer this evening and saw the larger image, it became clear why he stayed. He was having lunch!
These shots show the phase as he begins to devour his delicious meal.
