...for the first time this year. (Well, second time for me - we sat outside at the pub on Friday lunchtime.) Lovely to have a bit of warmth and sunshine.
A fun tradition we have continued from our very 1st farm dinner event back in 1999 is for ea. guest to bring their own dinner plate to the table. Our long farm table set w/ the guests' myriad contributed plates provides a colorful one time only table setting. Your plate will be washed & returned clean to you before your departure. If you don't wish to participate or forget, don't worry we'll have plates on hand.

2013 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
Tuesday July 9, 2013
Skagit River Ranch, Sedro-Woolley, WA
HOST FARMERS: George & Eiko Vojkovich, Skagit River Ranch
GUEST CHEF: Brandon Pettit, Delancey, Seattle & Essex, Seattle
OITF staff member and former Seattle resident Anna Gelb organized a good portion of the schedule this year. She tells us: "George Vojkovick is the grass-fed beef God in the Seattle area." Mmmm... sounds good.
Brandon Pettit is chef/owner of Delancey & Essex. Molly Wizenberg, who writes the popular Orangette blog, is a co-owner (& Brandon's wife). Delancey is their first restaurant, rustic, unpretentious & delicious, while the younger Essex boasts incredible cocktails & homemade Fernet. Add Skagit River Ranch & it sounds like a recipe for an amazing farm dinner.
London night shoot , I only got 12 pictures , on and off as camera kept packing up so I was pleased to get anything

Duncan's Sunday morning riders seem a wee bit thinner on the numbers front these days, where the eponymous leader is stimulates conjectures of gallivanting in far-off places? (Lucky bugger). I'm in the middle here at our coffee and cake refueling station at Piercebridge, not far from the village's famous Roman Bridge and ruins. We had a good run with 45 miles on my legs by the time I got back home. Cheers to Brian for the navigation and to Christine and Geoff for their always welcome company. Right I've got some business with a big bit of cream-topperood carrot-cake.
Nice lunch in the sunshine yesterday in the back garden despite the noisy neighbours with old chums Tony Pene and Dave.
The 5th edition of Alfresco Tonight (aka Alfresco Vancouver) took place at Second Beach in Stanley Park, on the outskirts of Downtown Vancouver.
Alfresco meals are potluck style, with the idea that local food is good food. Everything is brought to the site and nothing is left behind. Disposables are limited to a bare minimum.
Most people start the night as complete strangers, but they rarely leave that way...
