The last few weeks I really enjoyed capturing the exotic butterflies and sharing with you, friends. Of these, I found the Mormon butterfly(female) most photogenic and beautiful from the point of view of a photographer(me).
Here is one and thanks for the overwhelming response.
... it engulfs the town in hazy cloud, no one minds much ; children don't even bother to run for shelter they just walk on to school as if it is a part of everyday life. Around this time of the year people generally walk with an umbrella in hand whether it's raining or not.
Now where is Aizawl ; its in Mizoram where the beautiful and valiant Mizo people live. In Mizo life two things are very significant; one is their faith in Christianity another is their love for music. Luckily on the first day of my visit to Aizawl I came to know and experience the leading voices of Mizoram. My next upload will tell you about that.By the way Mizo means highlander .

1 & 2. Myrica(Myrica esculenta/ farquhariana)(Keifang in Mizo and Soh Phie in Khasi-Kaiphal in Hindi,Nagatenga {Assam}) Now in season.
3.Khawmhma in Mizo and Sohma in Khasi(Bot. name-Rhus javanica/semialata)- Tangy in taste. It comes in early part of Autumn.
4.8.Thei Pangkai in Mizo-Soh-ramdieng in Khasi, Leteku in Assamese(Bot.name-Baccaurea sapida/ramiflora) The fruits grow directly on the boughs in bunches.
A very Happy Weekend and Easter to all
seen from the Balcony of my hotel room ; Aizawl is a beautiful place - full of beautiful people with a great mix of Extreme modernity and Rich traditional native culture. Oh by the way within 30 mnts this frame got completely obscured in dense fog. Now let me get back to what I was telling you ; here , onyour way from the airport to town you will find virgin ever green forest , dense wild banana grooves packed tightly , tall cascading water fall , deep gorged river. Markets are packed with herbs & vegetables fresh and aromatic. Streets are chock a block with cars & 2 wheelers; girls are every where and doing everything ; you will find a guitar at every home , couple of rings on the eye brow . Hotels and other tourism facility is coming up.

Aizawl city and it's sky ! When I was trying to get this shot with an improvised Tripod this is the only line which was playing in my mind. " With the naked earth beneath us and the universe above" ; (Cat Stevens - Boy with a Moon and Star.) ".. 'Cause she had given me something that my heart couldn't forget." It keeps my heart filled with joy. Life itself is reason enough to celebrate ; just being here and enjoying the consciousness. What else do you need !

Rainy days are here to stay and the subjects of my delight are in a different cycle of life. Even if they were around, nothing much could be done with the lens in this gloomy weather.As they say, the show must go on. Hence, I have to fall back to the archives.

Besides the shepherds, the Bible tells us that some wise men from the east also visited the new born Messiah(Redeemer) at Bethlehem. The above three figures represent the popular interpretation of this event and the parents and the new born Redeemer whose birth anniversary is being celebrated throughout the world are in the background.

A moth on tinted glass table-top ! Moths are no match to butterflies in the matter of beauty. Bigger, awkward and slower in general . But they are the main source of silk of different varieties .
