with the coming of winter nothing much has changed. The vegetation looks still the same and butterflies still hover around. Of course, the dry spell has just started.

Young Mizos in traditional costumes dancing in a stadium in Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram.I tried my best to capture the mood but I am not very good at this.:-)However I thought my friends would find the costumes interesting.
Mizoram is a land-locked state of north-east India sharing borders with Myanmar and Bangladesh. The name Mizoram derives from the words Mi (people) Zo (lofty place or hill) and Ram (Land).Hence Mizoram means Land of the Hill people. Most of the state is mountainous and 91% is forested.About 95% of the population is of tribal origin.87% of the population is Christian, having converted from animistic religions to Christianity in the first half of the 20th century. The north of the state is dominated by the Presbyterians and the south by the Baptists.During our visit a local friend took us to attend Sunday morning service in the largest Presbyterian church in Aizawl.Rate of literacy in the state is very high .
The Mizos are very fond of music and dancing.I took some shots but soon I was whirled away by three young girls to join the dancing. It was great fun.:-)

I was third time lucky to have this beautiful butterfly strayed into my office room. As could be seen below, only a wall separates my office room with the bed of bouganvillae flowers which attract varieties of butterfly. In autumn it was marigold flowers. Ocassionally they strayed into my office room through the window by mistake and I would let them out only after a photo session. This answered the frequent queries asked as to where I found all these butterflies all the time.
As you all know, my second encounter with this particular butterfly was just one click affair that left me unsatisfied. I was therefore quite thrilled to see it again and that too inside my office room. Here it is, admiring itself and asking- Mirror Mirror tell me who is.........
Two kinds of Emigrant butterflies. Above is the image of a Common or Lemon Emigrant (Catopsilia pomona) butterfly.
Thanks for the visit and have a lovely Saturday and weekend.
This nice looking butterfly was seen around throughout the autumn but never gave a chance to click properly because is of its constant fluttering and would not sit still for a while. Today I was lucky enough to frame it somewhat decently --here it is.
