This lady was performing at Chapchar Kut 2010, Aizawl, Mizoram, NE India. I was there to witness the Mizo's attempt to break the world record for the "Cheraw" or bamboo pole dancing. You'll be familiar with bamboo pole dancing if you ever saw "The Generation game" on British tv way back. The lads were on the groud rhythmically beating the bamboo poles together whilst the girls, bare footed, danced in and out of the wood. Over 10,000 young Mizo's took part and I was even interviewed on NE Indian TV about it all.

This particular tea cup is known as YMA No in Mizoram. It is mainly used for serving public tea by Young Mizo Association (YMA) in good and bad times in their respective locality.
Sundays always remind me of the time spent at northeast. Streets would be empty, shops remain closed and everybody in their attire would be heading for the Church service. This one however was taken at Aizawl on the Christmas eve - I can definitely called it as the City of Churches for the numerous Church buildings, each presenting a different architecture. The evening is for everyone to enjoy - eat, drink and be merry.

My two companions coming out of Chawngchilhi cave located on the roadside on Aizawl-Lunglei road via Thenzawl (World bank road) at the vicinity of Buangpui village. The cave is associated with the folktale of a damsel falling in love with a snake( story available on line).
