Aizawl is the state capital of Mizoram. The City is located north of the Tropic of Cancer in the northern part of Mizoram and is situated on a ridge 1132 metres (3715 ft) above sea level, with the Tawang river valley to its west and the Tuirial river valley to its east.
The roads are always packed solid with taxis, it's a wonder they ever get anywhere.
Historians believe that the Mizos are a part of the Mongolian race, spilling over into Eastern India centuries ago. They came under the influence of the British Missionaries in the 19th century, and now most of the Mizos are Christian.
It was that packed, I struggled to keep up with that guy in front who was carrying my camera bag (yes, I'm bone idle I know :))
View large and you can pretend you're there (turn the heating right up and you'll even feel how hot it was)
