Aggregate Industries liveried 66711 on 6E83, 08:20 Middleton Towers Gbrf to Barnby Dun at Peterborough at 11:43 on 1/2/2017.
These 90-tonne aggregate hoppers grind up and down the line near my house almost every day, so it was only a matter of time before I set to and modelled one. A fairly tricky bit of 3D geometry waist-high, which turned out reasonably well, I think.
Fave part: the 'milk' bottles used as pneumatic cylinders to open the top clam doors.
Least-happy part - the bottom opening 'doors' are a bit fudged and simple at the moment.
Note also my most compact bogies to date - credit to Duq www.flickr.com/photos/duq/25930438191/in/album-7215762205... for the salient elements of their design - thanks!

Aggregates carrier Bert Prior on its way down the River Thames and passing the Tilbury landing stage, with three Smit Kotug tugs - RT Adriaan, SD Dolphin and ER ambition moored there. There had been a fourth, SD Seal, but it passed earlier escorting a Ro-Ro cargo ship up river.
Shot taken 12 July 2018, uploaded 29 February 2024.
I'm not sure where Bert Prior now is: possibly at Wivenhoe, possibly somewhere on the Thames. RT Adriaan is at Maasvlakte, Rotterdam and is named VB Kracht, SD Dolphin and RT Ambition are still on the Thames at London Gateway as VB Dolphin and VB Ambition, the three tugs all now Boluda tugs and with navy blue hulls.
The mooring spaces at the landing stage are presently occupied by 2 cruise ships.

Looking fantastic in full sun and Aggregate Industries livery, 59002 "Alan J Day" rounds the curve at Great Cheverell (from The Green overbridge) with 6V18, the 1120 empty stone train from Allington A.R.C. in Kent to Whatley Quarry in Somerset.

The late running 4M11 1235 Washwood Heath RMC - Peak Forest Cemex Sidings passes Elford some 140 minutes down on 20th April, hauled by DBCargo Class 66 No. 66055. Note that due to the decline in the demand for power station coal, otherwise redundant MGR wagons are now being put to other uses, including this aggregate flow from Peak Forest. A mini-series following my 44mm-high Homies character Pelon, where he poses for photo ops at potholes on the streets of Mount Tabor Park.
Leadership fixes potholes, not patching.
Chronic neglect of Portlandâs streets is manifesting in the burgeoning number and size of dangerously large potholes across the city. Here, pothole road damage is seen in Mount Tabor Park, Portland, Oregon.
Engineering: From a technical perspective, a great deal of information can be gleaned from a deep pothole, as it provides a cross-section-view of the pavement structural sectionâ¦or lack thereof, as in this case. Here, the asphalt wearing surface is heavily pitted, highly oxidized and brittle, confirming many years of neglect. The asphalt layer is minimal; confirming this road never received the maintenance originally planned. The river-rounded pebbles of the base course layer tell the story of a roadway constructed originally from deficient materials. Roadway base course should be well-graded, faceted aggregate so as to provide optimum particle interlock â a crushed and sieved mix from those same pebbles would suffice. Finally, from the moisture visible in the pothole, and the shape of terrain at the road shoulders, it is clear that poor drainage has contributed to the failure of this road. The conclusion is unequivocal; this road has failed and no amount of patching will restore a level of service â or service life â that should be reasonably expected of it.

Bardon Aggregates has recently been absorbed into its parent company, Swiss-owned Aggregate Industries, which has grown by mergers and acquisitions over the last thirty years to become one of the country's leading providers of quarry products, with over 60 quarries in the UK. Whilst not unattractive, it's predominantly livery is rather bland in the style of the times. Production of the iconic Scania T-Series ceased an incredible 20 years ago - a fact that I failed to appreciate when adding more recent registrations to earlier versions of this image. Thanks again to Martin Vonk for the source image (21-Mar-15).
