Apparently Annie got freaked out by Baloo. But Wendy came over and calmed her down and talked with her for about 15 mins. Peter Pan soon joined her and Annie was right as rain soon after. Props to Disney staff!

Today was my last day in town before I head back to Huntsville for my second semester at Sam Houston. While I'm really looking forward to this semester, it's always a little sad to leave home - especially after being here for so long over the break. But even when a bit of sorrow is in me I think it is very important to always find a way to lighten up and be silly. Just as the scripture from Ecclesiastes says, "there is nothing better than for men to be happy". So, be happy always! Enjoy what you have when you have it and don't be sad over small things. If you need to be upset, there is nothing wrong with that - but don't let the sorrow last for too long. Be happy, be silly, let loose and be yourself. Have fun with those around you and make positive memories.

The "Be Afraid" party in the Science Gallery, Trinity College Dublin on Halloween night and the closing night of Lab in the Gallery: Pay Attention
Had the pleasure of being the keynote speaker at the South Carolina Association for Volunteer Administration's 2016 conference. They promoted their #SCAVA2016 tag a LOT, and asked people to use their smart phones a LOT during the conference - something I've never seen at a conference for managers of volunteers, but was VERY happy to see! Gave a presentation that encouraged them to raise both their profiles in their own organizations and to raise their profiles as experts in volunteerism - and got a standing ovation! A veces suceden cosas en la vida, cosas inesperadas, bonitas pero temibles por lo buenas que pueden ser. Sientes miedo, miedo a equivocarte, a tomar la decisión incorrecta, a enamorarte demasiado del momento que estas viviendo.
Pero no temas, no pares, no te rindas porque la vida esta para vivirla cada momento, así que disfruta del presente y no le temas al futuro, un futuro que debe de estar cargado de experiencias, y no importa si el resultado es bueno o malo, sino lo que aprendes de ellas cuando acaban, los recuerdos que te dejan y los buenos momentos que has pasado viviendolas, momentos felices, con risas, muchas risas. Recuerda que es de héroes sonreir cuando el corazón llora.
Y lo que debes saber es que si luchas puedes perder, pero si no luchas ya estas perdido.
