Harthill Highland calf's

Many animals were hiding in the high grass, but for giraffes that's a bit difficult....

Today, it being spring and our wardrobes overflowing we conducted a long overdue cull of clothes too long hibernating and deserving the freedom of the charity shop or the bin.

Doing so I came upon this shirt, unwearable as a result of all the pulls in the front, but which until today I couldn’t bring myself to part with.

It is some two years now since our twenty-year old cat Jake departed this life and there’s still a hole in our hearts where he used to be. He was very fond, even in his final days of jumping onto my lap and kneading my tummy with his remarkably sharp claws before settling down to sleep.

These pulls were the only tangible evidence I had left in this world of him and of his affection for me.

At least there’s now a picture to document that evidence even though it too has now departed.

Winters are about warmth not coldness.

This is the same mule team, and I managed to get them just as they touched noses.

Cut-paper collage postcard. Don't worry: this wasn't prompted by anything in my personal life, just by the fact that these Charles Rennie Mackintosh chairs are facing in opposite directions. The background is from a series of 1948 Texas highway maps.

Shelter Series cats.

Considering a new addition to your heart & home? Why not check out your local SPCA or animal shelter where so many hearts are waiting to be loved & to give love.

You'll both be glad you did.

Zuneigung und Liebe spricht aus dieser Pose des doch etwas ungleichen Paares.

A wave was seen and spent at a sandy beach for one day.

The view of the wave which is returned since bringing it near repeatedly,

is an instant.

The aspect is changed, so until what time, view,

Even if, I don't tire.

A dawn and the moment of a sunrise are at time in particular.

Shows me a wonderful drama.

But this day is the cloudless gentle setting sun.

This long sea where such scene is being developed

When dusk approaches, bank whole is also the color of the wave and a beach.

It's very beautiful and immersed in the fascinating world further.

A heart was healed significant 1 day.

It’s the gift of love

It’s a bottomless well

It’s the element of which all emotional manifestations are ultimately composed.

The reason horses don’t speak out loud

Is because they are master listeners.

Some can take you through the still land,

help you listen to your Soul.

The brush in my hand reaches out for Emy’s dark mane,

smoothing out the tangles firmly and gently.

This opens up a deep connection of love

as we travel to another world

where generations of devoted mothers

stand combing their beautiful daughter’s hair.

This powerful ritual stirs a deep longing in me.

In that instant my grandmother’s affection

pours over my head like fountain water

as my eyes release pure liquid joy.

What seems to be lost is only submerged or hidden

in a deep well of perfect awareness waiting to be rediscovered.

I brush Emy’s underbelly with smooth movements.

We continue to listen in that still land

where four birds find their long awaited release

out of the mouth of a wise and courageous healer,

favoured by Creation to ressurect the forgotten songs.

Like those steadfast mothers of long ago,

these songs are hidden and discounted

until the Great Artist calls Creation forth

on his silent canvas of profound reconnection.

The great secret to finding balance again

Is to listen intently for all that has been cut off.

Emy stands motionless as the last brush stroke finishes.

I need to leave the barn and breathe in the warm sunlight.

I feel her behind me holding the space for both of us.

When I was a young woman in my twenties

I wanted to travel to faraway places

and bring back precious treasures that lift the spirit.

My grandmother’s warmth stirs alive within me.

I turn to look into Emy’s deep and trusting eyes.

It is our work to excavate the keys of balance and harmony.

May Creation continue to reveal our pathways in Unity and Joy.

May we keep listening for the lost pieces aching to return home.

This collage is a tribute to my beloved grandmother who’s painting is the backdrop for this idea. In her arms I found my first soul mate and nurturer. This painting was done by a street artist in Paris when she was still a very young woman full of hopes and dreams. Because of family dynamics, our relationship never really had a chance to come full circle until Emy and I connected on a deep level and I could let go and understand the grace of all the lessons. Those that have gone before are still very much with us.

Emy was introduced to me through a friend of mine named Charlotte who is a psychotherapist and an equine facilitator. She invited me up to her family’s ranch so that I could learn more about the work that humans and horses can do in the area of healing and restoring balance in life. Emy and I hit it off right away and our initial grooming exercise was so powerful and insightful for me. I worked with some of her other horses after that but my experience with Emy has taken a few years to really sink in and process and I’m celebrating another level of this today. Before I met Emy, I had told Charlotte about

a dream I had about a dark horse with a white star on his forehead and she was quite amused as she told me that Emy’s newborn baby boy was a dark horse with a white mark on his forehead.

Also in this piece there is a painting by Dale Auger (1958 – 2008) , an award winiing Sakaw Cree Artist from the Bigstone Cree Nation in Northern Alberta. When I first saw this image on the cover of his book, I could not stop staring at it. His family had released it under the name “Medicine Paint” which shows his paintings through the years. I had such a profound eperience turning the pages of his collection as I felt his growth and maturation and his extraordinary capacity to draw in the elements of healing in his later years. His culture had been severely cut off and he was bringing the elements of expression as medicine from the Creator back into his paintings. When he was struck with an illness, he continued to find clarity and liberation in his work that he shared with anyone who was open to it. The book was gifted to me by a friend who recognized how excited I was about it and it now has a place on the top of my bookshelf with this image facing outward. I humbly ask for his blessing that I have has used his painting in this way. It has helped me move through a deep process of reclamation.

How little we still know about ourselves. How can we possibly trust anyone else to know what is best for us? We must continue to explore all the hidden and submerged part of ourselves that still hold us back from our joy and abundance. Keep dreaming and exploring with all our might! Trust the inner Guide will appear in all the right moments!
