And when it's late we'll say we're still wide awake so...

We love to talk about how you'll come up to visit me

And we'll rent a car and we'll drive upstate

It's affection, always

You're gonna see it someday

My attention's on you

Even if it's not what you need

Caught a little peck from these mated parents. One had just returned with some food and the other one showing gratitude, affection and love to her mate for providing for her and the young one or maybe more. Have seen them feeding down in the nest.

Thanks for the visit enjoy the day

short films - I’ll only hurt you if you let me - Oct/2025

Sometimes we forget that pain is an expression of connection, perhaps even a sign of affection. In any case, however, it is a clear indication that we do care.

"short films – …and then we‘ll call it even"

Every person faces their own inner battles, which are unique in their intensity and significance. These psychological struggles cannot be compared, as they are an expression of each individual's journey through the depths of consciousness. They are the touchstones that shape us and lead us to explore the limits of our being. Overcoming these inner conflicts holds the possibility of growth, transformation, and enlightenment.

I kept this series practically closed as a self-portrait series for a very long time. I think it’s time to open it up and at the same time connect it to my overarching theme, the portraits.

As a rule, these are long exposure shots with exposure times varying between 2 and 30 seconds. In this case 10 seconds. They are series that deal with a range of human feelings and thoughts. They deal with desire, loss, regret and pain and the attempt to process all of this.

Since the news of Alysson’s death, expressions of affection have flooded social media. Friends, fellow barbers and hairdressers, independent, unknown, and even politicians, join in to pay tribute to the young barber. Last August, in the midst of a health crisis, this 24-year-old woman from Liège opened her barber shop, the Hooterscitting, in rue Saint-Gilles. A dream for her that was coming true. But a few months later, she couldn't get over it and ended her life.

At the start of the week, a fresco in the image of Alysson appeared in Liège. The portrait, which was taken in the abandoned building of Le Forem, rue Bois d´Avroy, has turned a lot on social networks. His father had long tried to find out who the author was in order to thank him. This is the Liege graffiti artist Hyer, a former client of the salon where Alysson worked before becoming a barber.

The young man told our colleagues at RTBF that he hated going to the hairdresser, but that the young woman quickly put him at ease. “We had good discussions and I felt he was a good person,” he added.

On the day the portrait of Alysson was born, the young man planned to paint. “And it was obvious, it had to be Alysson,” he comments.

Through his fresco, the graffiti artist wanted to pay homage to the barbière, but not only. There is a certain anger in his work. The anger to see that, according to him, the government is abandoning the independents: “Alysson had the courage to do what a lot of people of my generation did not do: undertake. In Belgium, it's very hard. "

Not sure it is courtship or feeding, but was glad the camera managed to keep them in focus.

Relationship between two different generations. There are feelings of affection and love without expectations, acceptation and meaningful connection.

Cigarettes After Sex_Affection

I know that you say I get mean when I'm drinking, but

Then again sometimes I get really sweet, so

What does it mean if I tell you to go fuck yourself

Or if I say that you're beautiful to me

It's affection, always

Ooh; you gonna see it someday

My attention for you

Even if it's not what you need

Sometimes we talk all night long, we don't shut up

And when it's late we'll say we're still wide awake so

We love to talk about how you'll come up to visit me

And we'll rent a car and we'll drive upstate

It's affection, always

Ooh; you gonna see it someday

My attention's on you

Even if it's not what you need

I think of you, I want you too

I'd fall for you

I think of you, I want you too

I'd fall for you

I think of you, I want you too

I'd fall for you

I think of you, I want you too

I'd fall for you

Courtship displays of the Australasian Gannet include bill fencing (shown in a previous photo) , bowing and pointing their heads skywards . The birds generally follow this exchange with allopreening (mutual preening), shown in this image.

Another shot of the interaction that we were so privileged to watch between this 2 month old cub and the lioness. She was not his mother but was incredibly patient with him. Taken in South Luangwa, Zambia. We watched this pride for close to an hour and I doubt that I will ever have this amazing opportunity again.

A SPECIAL BOND!

I love photographing horses, not the easiest to do, there are standards, but with the help of the breeders it usually becomes a very pleasant and exciting experience.

Here was a fortuitous moment, as a photographer, yes you have to focus on the main subject and there is MUCH to think about and concentrate on, but as a creative you stay aware of what is going on around you, and these 'off' images often become my favourite shots...

One of the horses I had photographed was taken back, so this was one of those 'in-between' moments...

This is the mother in the family that breeds horses, it is tough and yet rewarding.

They witness the birth and tend to the foals with love and yet when they lose one, they are quite stoic about it...

Such tenderness, closeness, emotion, just HAD to be captured.

I wish you all the very best and thank you for all your kind words, time, comments and faves.

Very much appreciated. M, (*_*)
