Cargo Spaceship Captain: Seasoned captain commandeering planet-sized "Spacehulk" class cargo ships, enjoying his favorite flavor of synthetic tobacco, "Interstellar Original".
(Second row) Flight Mechanic: Employed mid-flight to fix the ship‘s hull or to get rid of cable-eating critters. (Also underpaid)

ive been reading Huygens treatise on the nature of light. Huygens presciently determined the wave nature of light, but presumed that gravity had no effect on it. rather he looked to aether as the medium that light traveled in. good stuff. im always amazed by the quality of investigation of the early scientists. check out huygen's wiki entry.

Aether was defined throughout science as the element that makes up the region of the universe beyond the Earth or celestial sphere. Some ancients believed that gods and spirits breathed aether in the same way we breathe in oxygen. The concept of aether was used in several theories explaining natural phenomena, like traveling light and gravity for example, also In Greek mythology, it was considered to be the purest essences that Gods needed, filling the space or void where they slumbered.

Fog from the adjacent Greenbrier River has collected on either side of Second Creek Tunnel with much of it finding its way into the tunnel itself as eastbound Amtrak passenger train #50, the Cardinal, rushes through the bore creating an ethereal scene on the morning of February 28, 2021, in Rockland, WV.
More ICM jiggery-pokery. This is actually two ICM photos blended together, one of a wave and a marker on a beach, the other the sunrise over the sea (which has been turned upside down). Now it looks like a a small hill over a pond, to me - but I suppose it can be whatever you see in it yourself - much like life ;-)

This is my camp at the Lower Tapeats Campground on the Colorado River. MSR Hubba Tent, Herradura Anejo Tequila safely hidden in my Osprey Aether 70 backpack, and the ubiquitous orange shovel.
These Lowa boots are great, but they don't make this model anymore. I've got to find the source for a saying I know - "If you want to forget all of your worries, wear a bad pair of boots".
Grand Canyon - lower Tapeats Campground at the Colorado River. This is south of Thunder River and east of Deer Creek.
