This isn't my image. It is kunstkammer's. Here is the original:

This was not a "fine" adjustment but a rough approiximation of what could be done.
Essentially, the fountain blended into the backdrop too much and I did some color adjustments to make it stand out. The shot's composition is VERY clever and I wanted to make it more apparent.
Adjustments are:
0. Fine tune image with hue & contrast increase.
1. add a cooling filter and erase the portions of the cooling filter that are not the fountain.
2. add a B&W gradiant map. erase the fountain portion, then set the transparency of the eraser to 25% and erase the some portions of the remainder of the image allowing the right to come mostly thru but the blue building in the backdrop to remain mostly B&W.
BTW: This image was submitted to my new group that allows people to see it when I link to it from the group but yet it is private...
It's been awhile since I posted anything on machines. So I thought I would post two pictures I have never posted anywhere.
They were taken at the Gravenstein Fair at Ragle Ranch Park, Sebastopol, California.
I was intrigued by the motor a farmer was idle adjusting at the fair. Early American antique motors interest me. The motor is what made us a very mobile society and powerful nation. But this isn't a history lesson. I just wanted to share a few pictures of antique motors I took.

The City planned ahead - the streetlights can be swung back to make room for the floats. This was part of the entertainment, and got a big "Ooooh!" from the crowd.

I did a few things to this photo:
increased exposure & shadows/highlights on the bottom and left portion, 2 sharpens on the painting/shadow, increased contrast and saturation on everything.
The crop is particularly tough on this photo. The shadow is the emphasis of the image, but the wood on the right curves. To remove it completely would eat into the shadow. The plant on the left is blocked by a wall I cropped out. The painting itself was also already cropped...
I think a better angle on the shot would help a lot.
Sept. 17,2013 in Katy Texas. This one has taken over again. She left for about a week so the male took over her spot. Now there are four of them chasing each other all morning.
