Inspiration from the outside pocket came from a pattern by Two Peas in a Pod (http://www.etsy.com/shop/twopeasinapoddesigns).

I adjusted the size of the bag and added an adjustable strap to make it my own.

Manually adjusting the heights of the bookshelves was the most satisfying activity I’ve done in a long time.

Here is a photo of the adjustable elastic waistband I put in the Ottobre 6/2008 skirt (design 16). To do this, all you do is sew a buttonhole on each side of the waistband and use buttonhole elastic (I bought mine online). Then, sew a button on each side to hold the elastic taut.
