If I have any minute inaccuracy, I can use my adjustment location to move the droput. The back end does require a high degree of accurate alignment beforehand and this system only really gives me any scope for super tweaking.

Low-budget articulated light stand.
Created from 3/4" PVC pipe and fittings. Specifically there are two elbows and a 'T' fitting. The two elbows work together to allow positioning in various angles. The 'T' fitting allows for one more point of articulation and for the addition of other accessories as needed (i.e. mounting a reflector).
The light socket is a simple plug-in socket I found at WalMart for about $1.50. It is held onto the arm of the light stand with electrical tape and is powered via a standard electrical extension cord.
Total cost for the stand and light is about $8 in parts.

On Friday, 23 December, 2016, Sovereign Hill's redcoat soldiers wore their new uniforms on parade for the first time. This project has included a large sponsorship appeal and every last detail of the uniforms have been thoroughly researched and recreated.
The fundraising was lead by two of the Sovereign Hill board members while Sovereign Hill's wonderful costume department was responsible for the research and the making of the costumes.

I think the 2 slots either side of the crutch are for the pendulum suspension spring. The crutch does not appear to have ever been fitted with a pin to engage with the pendulum.
