There 's nothing like cool temperatures and fresh air to raise the spirits. during my forays to the Alabama Hills the temperature can get up into the 100's and when they do, this is where I seek refuge. At around 9000 ft in elevation the difference in temperature is about 15 degrees and there nothing better the a fine mist that floats away from the falls right onto your weary soul.

I wouldn't have believed it until I saw this happen, but the parent physically corrected this very cheeky gosling not once, but twice, the second time causing the gosling to fall over. I am not certain what the gosling did wrong, but it was certainly something very naughty. I've always been fascinated by bird and animal behaviour, so it was fascinating to watch all of this transpire.
After the two "adjustments," the gosling looked as cheeky as ever, but kept its distance from the family. I guess this was the "Wild Child!"

Two weeks ago when we were in the Teton’s and Yellowstone the weather was rainy and less then ideal. This was one of the brief windows we had of no rain and some sunshine. This was the point at which things started to go against my plans. My sinus headache started and I realized I had left my tripod at home. This area was spectacular. There were small waterfalls everywhere. They were being fed by the three feet of snow still on the ground. For this photo I walked through the snow to the edge and quickly took a photo. This was the last I took during our time in Yellowstone. The sinus headache was too painful.
I processed this HDR from a single exposure and then finished the look with a touch of Topaz Adjust.

After topping up the paraffin level and then trimming the wick to make sure the flame is just right the lamp is ready for use on the loco.
