Things are afoot in the Robertson Buses ancillary fleet, with some new stuff and some renumbered stuff. Arriving soon(ish) should be a new recovery truck, but already here is this Nissan Cabstar cherry picker platform truck. As trucks go it’s pretty tiny and barely bigger than the Peugeot staff car – even one of the small buses dwarfs it.
The platform truck can be used for a variety of purposes, such as allowing easier access to bus stop flags to update the stickers, up to the roof level of double deckers for cleaning and repairs, changing adverts, changing light bulbs (!) and retrieving a lost basketball that somehow ended up on the depot roof. And, of course, as is RB custom at this point, it gets used to visit the chip shop (I think the drivers have the ambition to visit the local chippy in every member of the fleet).
Renumbering of the ancillary fleet actually splits it off specifically as the ancillary fleet, as opposed to being lumped in with the rest of the bus fleet. So ancillary vehicles now have an ‘S’ prefix, though for most of them that’s merely an admin exercise and their original numbers are still displayed.
S1 is the Peugeot 206 staff transfer car, which previously did not have a fleet number
S2 will be the new recovery truck
S3 is the withdrawn Dennis Dart which is now laid up at Grantham as a mess room for the drivers
S4 is the Plaxton Beaver used as a van, which still carries the number 4 without the prefix
S5 is the Nissan Cabstar platform truck shown above
S10 is the Leyland Roadtrain which still carries 10 on its sides with no prefix
The S itself doesn’t particularly stand for anything; it could be Service, Supplementary, Secondary, Support, Sausages. Even though it’s called the ancillary fleet I didn’t feel like an A prefix because then everything would sound like a piece of paper, or a main road.
This is a rarity... One commercial addition that is adjoined to two separate houses. The houses must have been sold as one property before the addition was built.
Chopsticks inhabits most of the addition and offers a karaoke experience as well as Chinese-American food. I think this was the first before Chopsticks II and III popped up in other locations. The Chit Chat Cafe moved in more recently to make use of its patio and specializes in Taiwanese food for take-out.

The Federal additions towards the right date to the late eighteenth and early nineteenth-century. In 1840, Crailo served as a boarding school, and later, a church rectory.*

This is one of two commercial additions on this stretch of 21st at the boundary between two of Sacramento's most prestigious and historic old neighborhoods, Land Park and Curtis Park.
McCormick Elementary School's 1930 addition. It was built in 1930. The first part of the school was built in 1889-1890 and was designed by architects Proudfoot and Bird. It was added to in 1930 and in 1950. It closed in 1992 due to declining enrollment and is now home to the McCormick School Museum.
National Register #78001288. Added in 1978.

A special curriculum for the teaching of Arabic has been developed at the MLC to comprise the gist of various reputed international curricula. In addition, we teach a book entitled “Al-Kitab fi Taallum Al-Arabiah”, edition two, George town University, Texas, and another one entitled “Alef Baa” for the primary levels, or A1. All the way through, concentration is on the four basic skills of the language: listening, reading, speaking and writing. This is coupled with building capacity to help the student speak the language in private and public daily situations, and understand Arabic on the literary and cultural levels.
I added 1 jar of powdered PB2 PeanutButter and 1 jar of PB2 ChocolatePeanutButter along with 3oz of Organic Raw Cacao Nibs. The people over at Bell Plantation have figured out a way to remove 85% of the fat from this stuff... making the possibility of peanut butter beer a much more reasonable idea.
The couples bedroom is separated from the bathroom by a two sided fireplace. The brick wall mirrors the brick wall at the opposite end of the space.

since we live in a 600 sq ft house with two bedrooms, we've been talking for a while about putting on an addition. over the last two or three years we've tossed around ideas and plans here and there, and it all finally came together this month. we're adding on a 375 sq ft space, which will include a 10 x 15 livingroom (kinda weird spacing, but we'll make it work) and a 15 x 15 master bedroom with a big closet. we are SUPER pumped, and even more pumped that (a) the weather is cooperating, which means that (b) the contractor is starting ahead of schedule. (who's ever heard of such a wacko thing??)
anyway, they came this morning and dug a trench for the foundation footings (and also tore down some trees and shrubs that we HATE). you can see a sorta decent shot of the hole in the comments.
this is Ian, my new brother. :)
God really does make them fragile for their entrance into this world, doesn't He?
holding little "Ian Monkey" is my dad...... who hasn't held one of his own in baby form for over 12 years.

On my last visit to Wegerzyn, this little girl was sitting up near the entrance to the building. It was a pretty, sunny day and as I watched from a distance, everyone who walked by stopped to say hello to her. She was very friendly, but very thin and obviously hungry. There were a lot of sympathetic "awwww's", but people kept on walking. Nobody there volunteered to take her home. So I said to myself - if she's still there when I am finished, if no one else takes her home with them - then I'll take her home with me.
I'm amazed that 500 people could walk right by this little baby and not have the heart to help. Worse yet, its obvious that she was someone's cat and they just dumped her there. The vet said she has recently had a litter of 2 or 3 kittens (that were already weaned) and she had probably been dumped because she did not produce more. No chip, no Craig's list posting, nothing in the paper or on Facebook. Nobody's looking for her.
As far as introductions to the other beasts in the house - well, she stood her ground with the beagles. Most of the other dogs are oblivious. Shadow doesn't know what she is yet, and Cat is not impressed.
Just need a couple more parts. The Interstate, on the other hand, Is finished.

Consolidated Construction Co., Inc.recently finished an addition and renovation at Underwood Public School.
The project included a 6,035 square foot addition to the front of the school and renovations to the school’s existing event commons and restrooms areas. The new addition provides a new secure entrance, administrative offices, an expanded commons area, restrooms, concession stand, ticket booth, and a multi-purpose room. The improvements address specific needs to centralize the administration team, provide handicap accessibility, improve security, and natural daylight aesthetics.
Mark Irwin worked for Convair as the Chief of the Film and Video Group from 1944 to 1977, during one of the most innovative and productive time periods of the company’s existence. His work covers Convair’s premier programs such as the Seadart, the R3Y Tradewind, the Atlas ballistic missile, the POGO and the Tomahawk cruise missile. In addition to routine filming projects, Irwin conducted a variety of unusual shoots such as cold weather (snow) environments at Squaw Valley and Bemidji MN, and in 1956 embarked on a 2 year assignment at Cape Canaveral, FL at the very beginning of the Atlas program.

A Worker picking Cotton near sukkur. Cotton, belonging to a family that includes hibiscus and okra, produces a natural vegetable fiber used in the manufacture of cloth. Cotton produces a sweet nectar that attracts a variety of destructive insect pests, including the boll weevil, bollworm, armyworm, and the red spider. Bought myself a new lens today. So far i'm pretty impressed with it...especially for the cost. Everyone should pick this lens up if they are in need of a fairly wide zoom that's fast and you don't want to spend over $1000....buy it!

In addition to being at NAS Oceana for the homecoming of Carrier Air Wing 7, I was also present at Naval Station Norfolk to record the U.S.S. Eisenhower (CVN-69) return home following a 4 month deployment. The Eisenhower was deployed 10 out of the last 12 months.
