7DOS, Modern, Abstract Thursday

In our Modern, on demand world it is possible to have a variety of out-of-season and exotic foods available all year round. Whilst great for photo ops, it presents certain environmental and economic conundrums, another feature of our Modern age, I guess.

Oh, and there is the Martini glass - a thoroughly modern drinking vessel from the height of the Modern era.

Yes, Jim, I'm playing with my food again :-)

Abstraction is a performance installation that Inspired by Complicite's A Disappearing Number, this performance installation explores the key themes of mathematics, collision between East and West, and the interconnections of human relationships. Conceptualized as a visual score, and drawing references fro leading contemporary artists like Robert Wilson and Robert Lepage, the performance installation seeks to explore a new perspective accessible to the audience of 21st Century. Merging real-time technology with live performance, this re-invention blurs the lines between arts and science. Abstraction aims to leave behind something of permanent value, reverberating the life of memories.

Abstraction is created and designed by Theatre+Performance and Interactive Art Level 2 Students in collaboration with Acting Level 1 In Lasalle College of Arts.

A few more tries at zooming for the assignment in Studio 26. Varying amounts and speeds of zooming but I think they were all done (except 'sprats') starting at a wide angle (18mm) and zooming in.

This one shows the more extreme effect. that can be achieved, using more zoom and moving the lens faster too.

Week 62, Assignment 3 for Take A Class With Dave and Dave.

Abstract Redux. As a guideline, let’s use minimal post processing. Shoot something that shows the world in a different way.

Pretty much straight from the camera, with only the cropping done in Photoshop. I was shooting the moon and figured I'd see what I could do with some different exposure settings for the abstract assignment. Photographic abstracts are not a strong point of mine or something that I actively pursue.

Inspired by the abstract work of Wilhelmina Barnes-Graham, one of my favourite artists. We are lucky enough to have one of her prints in our living-room.

All these were created in camera this morning.

This was for my current photography project. Inspired by work of Aaron Siskind. Edited in the contrast to define the edges of the torn paper and to bring out the patterns in the chip board behind.

I'm not really one for doing successful abstract shots but I think this one is not bad. I love the tones and probably the self developing marks.
