A wonderful lusciously green display overhangs one of the many trails through Hillock Wood, Buckinghamshire.
You're broken down and tired
Of living life on a merry go round
And you can't find the fighter
But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out
And move mountains
We gonna walk it out
And move mountains
And I'll rise up
I'll rise like the day
I'll rise up
I'll rise unafraid
I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousand times again
And I'll rise up
High like the waves
I'll rise up
In spite of the ache
I'll rise up
And I'll do it a thousands times again
For you
For you
For you
For you
When the silence isn't quiet
And it feels like it's getting hard to breathe
And I know you feel like dying
But I promise we'll take the world to its feet
And move mountains
We'll take it to its feet
And move mountains

It's been already a week since my return back and as I have been busy I had no free time to review photos from my recent trip to Greece. So I made a dive into my archives and that photo from Boston's north end caught my attention. A historic alley I would describe it for 2 reasons. First, this alley is part of the famous "Freedom Trail" and second, the wall on the right of the frame is the Old North church, one of Boston's most historic buildings. During the American Revolution, on the steeple of that very church 2 lanterns were carried to warn the American militia that the British chose to advance against Concord by sea.

The distinctive characteristic of French cathedrals, and those in Germany and Belgium that were strongly influenced by them, is their height and their impression of verticality.
Each French cathedral tends to be stylistically unified in appearance . They are compact, with slight or no projection of the transepts and subsidiary chapels.
The west fronts are highly consistent, having three portals surmounted by a rose window, and two large towers. Sometimes there are additional towers on the transept ends. The east end is polygonal with ambulatory and sometimes a chevette of radiating chapels.
A Gift is something that we give to a person that we like or even love! With a gift we express that we are related to that person.
In littleworld the tiny citizens bestow eachother with a "lucky coin" for the new year. This coin is an mascot / mojo for the person that receives it. So here is your mascot for 2021 shown in the image :)

Rumbling, bumbling, stumbling through this beautiful area and still not where I set out to go I decided that I'd dine when I got to the train trestle (which if you tilt your head up 45 degrees you'll see) :-) and then I came upon this...... There is a downed tree similar to this wonderful fellow on which to sit and this is the view. Man I love it here. :-)
blow it up and stay a while, lots to see.
Greetings! If you are reading this you've survived the in-laws, the Huskies loss, and Santa has stopped by to the delight of all. :-) It's 17 years past Y2K and we are still here, time will tell if we can survive 4 years with a Neanderthal at the helm, but fingers crossed we will persevere. You folks had an amazing year, I saw a LOT of great shots last year and a lot of you have outdone yourselves recently, very cool to see and I'll be looking forward to your travels in the coming year. I do want to reiterate for those who missed it that I pushed the dreaded one pick a day button, it really made my life easier as I follow nearly one hundred people, I flat out don't have time for more than that, my apologies for crushed toes and bruised ego's but I have to find a way to make this work and still have a life out of this chair..... :-) I do enjoy my viewing time, so much to see, so if I miss something great give me a nudge and I'll stop by as soon as I can. I'm looking forward to seeing things that I've never seen this year, hope that I can bring you the same. :-)
as ever, best viewed large....
A gift that I received from my late grandfather. Owning 4 birds I find it funny that of all animals he gave me this ceramic bird with a knot around his neck.
I have him above my desk watching me every day and remember the good times I had with my grandfather,
