For Bully, we had to find a new pet sitter for our upcoming holiday in december. The next couple of days we will have a try-out to see if all three parties will like it.
Now that we don't have the dog, it gives us the opportunaty to do something nice and we decided to go for a short trip to Germany. I am looking forward to it, though it's always hard to leave your good friend behind...
See you next week again and have a Happy Furry Friday!
One of those precious special moments. After waiting for their scout to come back to tell them he has found a field for the day, these geese fly to that particular field and will return to the lake again at night.
Nothing dazzles like the dazzling white in Santorini. The blue on this white is very cool. They merge together very well too. And of course, you can't go wrong with black & white. See the blue domes in Imerovigli, Firostefani and Oia.
Check out the whole set - Glorious Greece.

Húsið að Hinrikismýri á Árskógssandi var rifið árið 2016 og Bjórböð Kalda reist á sama stað. Síðasti íbúi þar skv var Einar Pedersen, fróðleiksmaður af dönskum ættum, sem lengst af bjóð í gömlum torfbæ að Kleif í Þorvaldsdal. Hann flutti til Hinriksmýrar árið 1979 þegar dvölin í torfbænum varð honum tæplega sjötugum of erfið. Einar var mikill áhugamaður um náttúruvísindi og jarðfræði og stundaði ritstörf samhliða búskapnum. Rétt fyrir jólin 1992 fékk hann bréf frá vísindaakademíu New York, þar sem honum var tilkynnt að hann hefði verið útnefndur meðlimur í þessu 75 ára gamla félagi þar sem yfir 40 Nóbelshafar hafa orðið félagar.
The beautiful farmhouse Hinriksmýri was demolished in 2016 to make way for a bear spa at this magnificent place in Árskógssandur, Eyjafjörður. The last man to live in the house late last century moved to it when he became to old to live alone in his old turf house in a nearby valley.

on a dull day during a great time-out walk with Lexie at Ellesmere after a log delivery nearby
soaked my jeans laying down waiting and waiting and practicing my 'trust technique', and hoping I could whisper this goose to walk close by me. Who am I kidding? This goose was so tame, if I'd have had some feed i feel sure he or she would have eaten it out of my hand :-)

Sunlight shining through the bright green canopies high above paint parts of the stream with a beautiful greenish/yellow glow.
About Blanchard Springs:
Rainwater falling on the Ozarks has soaked into the ground for millions of years. As it moved through cracks in the limestone bedrock, it dissolved the stone and slowly widened the cracks to form Blanchard Springs Caverns. The water remained in the caverns until surface erosion carved valleys and allowed the water to escape. You are in such a valley now. As this valley cut deeper and deeper, lower sections of the cave were drained. New springs then developed below older dried-up springs. Blanchard Springs probably came out of the holes high on the bluff above us many years ago, when the streambed lay 20 to 30 feet above its present level.
This stream flows through bat sanctuaries on its way through Blanchard Springs Caverns. The water is enriched because of bat wastes and the decaying remains of those that died. Although this does not affect the appearance of the water, it does make it unsafe to drink.

a closer look at mitre peak, was getting bored of taking the usual 16 and 17mm the previous day. truly a fascinating place, mood changes quickly, weather is so unpredictable it's quite a challenge to get a good image. a place that will test your ability to adapt to the conditions and just soak up all the experience.
