Evening view on a frozen creek for those suffering from the heat. A day when your fingers go numb from the cold in minutes.

Apologies for rushing the inevitable. May your day be cool!

A TINY BIRD, it is constantly active in search of small invertebrates, you have to consider yourself extremely fortunate if you discover them. Feeding bird sometimes come amazingly close to observers, but views like this typically last no more than a few seconds. My thanks to Steve Ashton, without him I doubt if I would have encountered them.

THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND, enjoy the Lords day, please stay safe, stay positive, God bless you.............Tomx.

A very simple photo , but the simplicity of the ocean and coastlines are my happy place. Just your basic sea, sky, sand.

In solitude, I find solace by the sea,

Where peace whispers its tranquil melody.

The ocean's embrace, a sanctuary deep,

Where worries fade and souls, sweet release.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

Is a happy mind.

As I wrote the above I was reminded of the oriental story of the traveller who comes across a monk sat upon a rock by the roadside in peaceful meditation. They begin conversing and the traveller asks the monk...

"Can you tell me the difference between heaven and hell?"

"Yes" says the monk, and returns to his meditation.

"Tell me then" says the traveller but the monk remains silent. The traveller keeps repeating "tell me, tell me:, each time becoming angrier and angrier until at last he picks up a rock and yells -

"Tell me or I will kill you!"

"And there you have it" says the monk "there is the difference".

So a peaceful mind is indeed a happy mind and a mind only becomes peaceful when it is free from desire and aversion and is in full acceptance of what is, and what comes. A mind forever seeking this or avoiding that is a mind of discontent - self evidently.

What's any of that got to do with this flower you might rightly ask - well, it kind of reminded me of the shape of the brain, which led to mind which led to the title, which in turn led to the anecdote. So, if you got this far - odd how things work out.......

Yes, once again a shot of the "Paard van Marken" (Horse of Marken) This one taken in the early morning while it was very dark still out there. In fact so dark, I couln't see a thing, and it was hard to focus. I hope you like it!

Thank you for taking the time to look, and thank you for your always kind words of praise. It is very much appreciated!

When I wake up in the morning, love

And the sunlight hurts my eyes

And something without warning, love

Bears heavy on my mind

Then I look at you

And the world's alright with me

Just one look at you

And I know it's gonna be

A lovely day

Yesterday was such a great day for clouds. From Los Angeles to the Nevada stateline all up I-15. I took over 90 pictures, landscapes with cool clouds, stopped maybe about 5 or 6 times, I didn't keep count. Ended up with 8 or 9 pictures I really liked, many of the others were very similar, so tried to pick the best from each stop. This cloud shot was taken at the last rest area on top of the mountain just before the long hill down to the Nevada stateline. I wasn't actually above the clouds, but they were about even with the altitude I was at.

I don't like to see horses and any other animal performing in a circus. It's not the place of this wonderful animal. But I'm obliged to admit that the Knie's circus has always had beautiful horses which are very well treated !

Peaceful Bokeh Wednesday

... on a day with 32°C and 80% humidity over here today ;-((

Have a Cool and Peaceful Travel Tuesday!

Puerto Espíndola, La Palma, Islas Canarias, Spain.

Winter made a feeble attempt to finally return yesterday, temps dropping to the point where the rain turned to sleet leaving a few inches of white "stuff" (I don't think I'd really call it snow) covering the ground, just enough to qualify for a white Christmas if it lasts. Temps continue to hover right around the freezing point and the lake remains completely ice free.
