2020 nyarán ritka égi jelenséget lehetett egy bő hónapig látni a hajnali égen.
C/2020 F3 vagy NEOWISE üstökös, egy hosszú periódusú szabad szemes üstökös volt, mely közel parabolikus pályán kering. 2020.március 27-én fedezték fel a NASA NEOWISE (Near Earth Objects-Wide-field Infrared Survey Exploler) programjának keretében.
Július elején az üstökös látható volt a reggeli égen, közvetlenül az északkeleti horizont felett és Capella alatt. A Földről nézve az üstökös kevesebb mint 20 fokra volt a Naptól 2020. június 11. és július 9 között. 2020. június 10-én az üstökös elveszett a Nap koronájában, a látszólagos fényessége 7 magnitúdó volt, ekkor 0,7 csillagászati egység (100 millió km) távolságra volt a Naptól és 1,6 csillagászati egység (240 millió km) távolságra a Földtől. Amikor az üstökös 2020. június 22-én belépett az SOHO űrszonda LASCO C3 műszerének látómezőjébe, az üstökös körülbelül 3 magnitúdó fényességűre erősödött, ekkor 0,4 csillagászati egység (60 millió km; 37 millió mérföld) távolságra volt a Naptól és 1,4 csillagászati egység (210 millió km) távolságra a Földtől.
Július elejére a NEOWISE üstökös fényessége 1 magnitúdóra erősödött , messze meghaladva a 2020-ban érdekesnek remélt korábbi üstökösök, a C/2020 F8 (SWAN) és a C/2019 Y4 (ATLAS) fényerejét. Júliusra egy ioncsóvája is kialakult. Az első csóva kék színű, és a magtól majdnem 70 °-os szöget zárt be. A csóvában piros elválasztás is volt, amelyet nagy mennyiségű nátrium okozott, és majdnem 1 ° fokra elnyúlt a központi ioncsóvától. A fő porcsóva enyhén arany színű, hasonló, mint a Hale–Bopp üstökös csóvája. Ez a kombináció hasonlít a C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS) üstökösére. Beinn a'Bhragaidh (Ben Braggie1300ft), is known locally as "The Mannie", the monument that is on top of this hill is to George Granville Leveson-Gower, the 1st Duke of Sutherland. The statue is 100ft high. Now this monument has caused lots of controversy over the years, there has been numerous attempts to topple the statue. The 1st Duke of Sutherland was held responsible for clearing many of his lands of people and replaced them with sheep, in the dark days of the "Highland Clearances". John Prebble has written an account of this in his book "The Highland Clearances".
A gaily decorated hop on hop off tour bus in Chandigarh. We had seen a similar one in Amritsar a couple of days prior but this one had a totally different vibe to it, probably due to the decorations and the overall uber neat layout of Chandigarh itself. The city's orderly grid system appears almost unbelievable in a country whose urban centres are synonymous with chaos. Yes, tell me about it- I have just come from Amritsar- it was a very interesting town no doubt, but unbelievably chaotic in places. In total contrast, wide boulevards connect all thirty six sectors of Chandigarh city (yes, each district is called a 'sector' here), each sector more or less self sufficient with shops, schools and entertainment venues. Adding to the beauty are the neat grid like layout of streets, interspersed with much greenery, public parks and gardens. It was a joy to visit Chandigarh! (Chandigarh, north India, Nov. 2017)

Seeing these 2 planes side by side blew me away. The Navy' s Top Gun school uses A-4s to simulate MiGs because they are smaller than Navy F-4, F-14 and F-18 aircraft. Looking at this picture the A-4 is still significantly larger than the MiG.
A member of our team in Gaza meets people at a school in order to assess their needs. People had gathered at the school after fleeing bombed areas.
