A baby changes things;
They’ll never be the same;
Your life is filled with wonder,
Since your little miracle came.
There’s lots of things to do now,
But with the new tasks you face,
Your family gains more love,
And bonds time will never erase.

A couple of Pine Siskins have joined the grosbeaks and amazingly are not overwhelmed as they squeeze right in to feed

You may remember a few months ago I took a shot of this rock structure www.flickr.com/photos/137633664@N05/47487898682/in/datepo... (“Passports Please”) on my stream.🤔
I did mention when conditions were right it would be nice to return with an assistant who could maybe stand in the right hand opening in order to give a sense of scale. Also for said person to hold a chiffon scarf into the wind for a theatrical look, if you get my drift.💃
After persuading my assistant to carry out this duty, she obviously needed to be suitably attired and look her very best on camera.
So I purchased a set of John Deere tractor drivers overalls from the local branch of ‘Mole Valley Farmers’ and we set off for North Devon.👗
The location itself is accessed down through a large wooded area. What was about to happen next is what these adventures are all about, suddenly we were greeted by one or two pheasants, then more and more until there must have been two hundred of them, but not only this, they walked all the way in front of us to the beach.🐧🐦
It was a situation that you just had to be there as it was just so funny, then they were gone just as quickly as they had gathered.😂
So down to business and get a couple of shots, except the higher than expected low tide made it too dangerous for my assistant to take up her Baywatch style pose in one of the rock openings, albeit with her John Deere overalls on.👹🙈
We respect the power of the sea very much, so it is better to err on the side of caution and make another visit.🌊🌊🌊😇
The rock itself is approximately 90-100 feet high, the right hand opening is aprox 30ft high x 15ft wide. The left hand opening is aprox 40ft high x 5 feet wide.⛰🗻🌋
Now incredibly as we made our way up through the woods yep, the pheasants appeared and again they lead the way up the track.
Bear in mind it was getting dark, so it would be soon time for these birds to roost, then gradually one by one they just quietly slipped off back into the woods. Something we will never forget.🐦🐧😴😴😴
As always I really appreciate the time you take to view and comment on my shots.
Hope you enjoy them as much as I do taking them.
Have a lovely weekend👍😎🐎🐷🍻🍻🍻🍷🍷🍷😂😂😂
Have a lovely weekend my flickr friends & I hope the strong winds in the UK will not affect you too much. This little robin had a hard job staying on the fence yesterday afternoon.

A Red-tailed Hawk (which I think was inappropriately named by some color blind ornithologist) flares in for a landing. This is the only view which really shows the color - front shot shows a cream-colored tail).
A very Merry Christmas to all who celebrate this festive season.
Hope you get what you want from jolly old Santa! He's is on the way!

Auch mit Sonnenuhr, etwas kleiner als auf der Halde Hoheward...
Also with sundial, somewhat smaller than on the Hoheward spoil tip...
A female Amegilla cingulata (blue-banded bee) heading for one of her favourite plants - Anise hyssop (Agastache foeniculum). You can tell she's a female because of three things: four blue stripes (males have five), black markings on the face, and pollen collecting on the hind legs.
A young buck wanders through the state park at Bridgeport in Nevada County. During hunting season, the bucks seem to understand they are safe within the limits of the park, and they stay there. It's nice to have safe zones in our lives. These days, many people in our world do not have this luxury.

Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Portuguese pronunciation: Monument to the Discoveries) is a monument on the northern bank of the Tagus River estuary, in the civil parish of Santa Maria de Belém, Lisbon. Located along the river where ships departed to explore and trade with India and Orient, the monument celebrates the Portuguese Age of Discovery (or Age of Exploration) during the 15th and 16th centuries.
A long exposure taken at sunset at one of the most frequented summertime spots from my childhood growing up in Hood River, Oregon. If you look closely, you can see the lights of Timberline Lodge coming on on the side of the mountain.
A pair of pristine Manufacturers Railway switchers cross a large bridge across the highway. As I was driving I could see these guys in the distance so I pulled over on the highway to grab this shot. I didn't remember until I scanned this shot that you can see part of the St Louis Arch in the background behind the trestle. April 1984
A very cute jumping spider it was. The front pair of legs stays up most of the time and yes, it gave me a hard time to get one good snap. It just kept moving all the time. A big thanks to Towhid for spotting this and bringing it to me.
Thanks everyone for viewing and your comments are largely appreciated!
It's only a butt view, but I believe this maybe a harvestman (Opilione), and to be honest, I did not see this model unti I got home on the computer. A 2-image, handheld focus stack of a bunch of fungi growing out of a rotting log.
