Juriques is a stratovolcano on the border between Bolivia and Chile. It is located immediately southeast of Licancabur volcano. Its summit is at 5,704 m (18,714 ft) with a crater 1.5 km (0.93 mi) in its longest diameter. Laguna Verde lies at the foot of this volcano.
Licancabur is a stratovolcano on the border between Bolivia and Chile, south of the Sairecabur volcano and west of Juriques. Part of the Andean Central Volcanic Zone, it has a prominent, 5,916-meter (19,409 ft) -high cone. A 400-meter (1,300 ft) summit crater containing Licancabur Lake, a crater lake which is among the highest lakes in the world, caps the volcano.
San Pedro de Atacama is a Chilean town and commune in El Loa Province, Antofagasta Region. It is located east of Antofagasta, some 106 km (60 mi) southeast of Calama and the Chuquicamata copper mine, overlooking the Licancabur volcano.
The town lies at an average of 7,000 feet (2,100 m), and visitors often experience mild altitude sickness such as dizziness, lethargy and headaches.

In 1819, Sir Thomas Raffles negotiated a treaty whereby Johor allowed the British to locate a trading port on the island. The Sultan of Johor is the sovereign ruler of the Malaysian state of Johor. It all was leading to the establishment of the British colony of Singapore in 1819. The port was strategically located along the main trade route between India and China. Singapore became an independent republic in 1965. Nowadays the country has become one of the world's most prosperous nations, with a highly developed free market economy and strong international trading links. Tourism in Singapore is a major industry and is the 5th most visited city in the world. Along with this, it also has one of the world's lowest crime rates. Public transport is easy when visiting Singapore. This includes the well-known Mass Rapid Transit system. MRT trains are fully automated without driver! Singapore is a green and clean city. It is also full of natural attractions and cultural heritage sites, from botanic gardens and nature parks to temples and museums. Chinatown is a small piece of China in the heart of Singapore. Once an enclave for Singapore’s Chinese immigrant population, the Chinatown of today is much-beloved for its blend of old and new, with historic temples and traditional medicinal halls sitting alongside hip new bars and lifestyle shops. You also can't miss the three monstrous towers of Marina Bay Sands which stand at the Marina Bay waterfront. Apart from the casino, the Marina Bay Sands also has a shopping mall, resorts, museums, theatres, an ice skating rink, and a Skydeck with an infinity pool. Next to the hotel are the Gardens by the Bay. The beautiful Gardens by the Bay light up in the evening with a free light and sound show. But the park consists of much more. There are three gardens: Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden and Bay Central Garden. In addition, there are two conservatories with botanical gardens, and the SuperTree Grove, with its well-known OCBC Skywalk. Definitely worth a visit.
Getting around Singapore by MRT (train) is simple. Singapore's public transport system is fast and efficient, and brings you to memorable attractions in no time. Take a refreshing walk in the award-winning Gardens by the Bay of Singapore. Of the 18 Supertrees in Gardens 12 of them can be found here above at Supertree Grove, with the tallest one measuring up to 50 metres tall. Here is the promised "non-Christmassy" version of the Berlin TV Tower framed by the Ferris wheel (please see first comment). Taken with the m.zuiko 25mm F/1.8. Another weird format, neither 1:1, nor any of the usual formats. I wanted to crop it to 1:1, but that took away too much of the night sky (which I think is needed as a balance) or would have left the TV Tower in an odd position. In the original 4:3 format the tower was sort of centered, but not quite, and there was a big metal strut of the Ferris wheel's construction in the left corner of the frame which I found distracting. Photoshop's content-based healing tool produced surprisingly good results when I tried to remove the strut, but it still looked unnatural, the motion-blurred circled light trails looked kind of topsy-turvy where precision work would have been necessary, and I couldn't get it right with the cloning brush, either, so all I could do was to crop it. I decided to go strictly for the rule of thirds as far as the TV tower is concerned which yielded this weird format :-)

Hier nun die versprochene "Weihnachts-freie" Version des Berliner Fernsehturms eingerahmt vom Riesenrad (siehe 1. Kommentar). Aufgenommen mit dem m.zuiko 25mm F/1.8. Wieder mal ein unübliches Format, nicht ganz 1:1 und auch sonst keins der gängigen Formate. Im 4:3-Original war der Fernsehturm fast in der Bildmitte, aber nur fast, und am linken Bildrand war eine der dicken Metallstreben der Riesenrad-Konstruktion zu sehen, die ich als störend empfand. Photoshops inhaltsbasiertes Korrekturwerkzeug (das Pflastersymbol) hat zwar erstaunlich gute Arbeit geleistet beim Versuch, das Metallteil wegzuretuschieren, aber die sehr exakten Rundungen der Lichtspuren waren einfach nicht hinzubekommen, auch nicht mit dem Klonstempel, also blieb mir nur, das Bild zu beschneiden. Ich habe mich hier, was die Position des Fernsehturms angeht, strikt an die Drittel-Regel gehalten; 1:1 hat mir, bei exakt platziertem Turm, zu viel vom Nachthimmel weggenommen, mit Nachthimmel wäre der Turm wieder seltsam platziert gewesen. Da blieb mir nur der Beschnitt auf dieses seltsame Format :-)

What must be Berlin's largest teddy bear. "Fynn" by Steiff is 4 meters (13 feet) tall, and can be found at the atrium of the LP12 Mall of Berlin on Leipziger Platz. I had to stand right in front of Fynn, because the comfy chairs placed right at Fynn's "paws" were all occupied by tired Christmas shoppers. The Mall opened in September 2014 and is Berlin's second biggest shopping mall. This December I visited it for the very first time, together with Sabine.R, on a photowalk. Taken with the Laowa C-Dreamer 7.5mm ultra wide-angle lens.
Steiff is one of Germany's most renowned manufacturers of stuffed toys / plush animals. It was founded in 1880 by Margarete Steiff, who designed and made most of the prototypes of her plush animals herself. Steiff's nephew Richard, who joined the company in 1897, invented the teddy bear in 1902. By 1907 Steiff had already manufactured and sold 974,000 teddy bears, the output continues to increase to this day, and Steiff plushies are sold worldwide. The Steiff company motto is "Only the best is good enough for children."

Der vermutlich größte Teddybär Berlins. Vier Meter hoch ist "Fynn" und sitzt im Atrium der LP12 Mall of Berlin. Ich habe direkt vor Fynn gestanden (stehen müssen), weil sämtliche Sessel zu seinen "Tatzen" von erholungssuchenden Weihnachtsbummlern belegt waren, und die wollte ich nicht mit auf dem Bild haben. Fynn ist ein echter "Steiff-Knopf-im-Ohr-Bär" ;-)
Aufgenommen mit dem Laowa C-Dreamer 7.5mm Ultraweitwinkel bei einem Fotospaziergang mit Sabine.R, der uns erst in die Mall of Berlin führte, dann auf's Park Inn und anschließend zum Weihnachtsmarkt am Alexanderplatz, zum Dom und als Abschluss zu Spree und Reichstagsgebäude.

Every year, around the last weekend of August or perhaps 1st weekend of September, a street car show takes place here in Manchester, the so called "Cruising Downtown". And for every pertrolhead/car enthusiast this is a grade A opportunity to admire some really cool cars. Like this 1966 Shelby Cobra for example, also called AC Cobra in UK. It is powered by the classic "side oiler" 7,0L V8 Ford engine delivering roughly 425HP (and allowing the car to have a whopping top speed of 164MPH) and while some people may think this is a Ford car, it's not. The manufacturer is AC (Auto Carriers Ltd) in UK or Carroll Shelby in the US. Ford, however, played a significant role developping this car as, aside from the giving it its hear (the engine), it also cooperated in the design of it. This is the 3rd Generation of the car and probably the most popular one.

Καθε χρονο, στα τελη του Αυγουστου/αρχες Σεπτεμβρη, ενα street car show διοργανωνεται στο κεντρο του Manchester, το επωνομαζομενο "Cruising Downtown". Και οπως καταλαβαινετε, για καθε λατρη της αυτοκινησης αποτελει μιας πρωτης ταξεως ευκαιρια για να απολαυσει μερικα πολυ εντυπωσιακα αυτοκινητα. Οπως αυτη η Shelby Cobra του 1966, η αλλιως AC Cobra στο Ηνωμενο Βασιλειο. Κατω απο το καπω εχει εναν 7λιτρο V8 της Ford ο οποιος αποδιδει περιπου 425 αλογα (και επιτρεποντας στο αμαξι να εχει μια ιδιαιτερα εντυπωσιακη, για τα τοτε δεδομενα, τελικη 264χλμ/ωρα) και ενω πολλοι ισως πιστευουν οτι ειναι ενα αμαξι της Ford αυτο δεν ειναι. Ο κατασκευαστης του ειναι η AC (Auto Carriers Ltd) στην Αγγλια η Carroll Shelby στις ΗΠΑ. Η Ford παρολαυτα επαιξε σημαντικο ρολο στην αναπτυξη του συγκεκριμενου αυτοκινητου αφου εκτος του οτι εδωσε την καρδια (κινητηρα) συμμετειχε στο ολο εργο της σχεδιασης. Στη φωτογραφια βλεπουμε την 3η γενια της Shelby Cobra που κατα τη γνωμη μου ειναι και η πιο δημοφιλης.
The title, "The Zil" pulls my brain in the direction of a nice dark Italian red wine called the "The Zinfandel". How it could jump from "The Zil", a Russian military truck sat rotting in the woods of North Wales, to a nice glass of wine is hard to explain but I suspect some minds work differently to others. And I must point out, we see things differently too.
I recently looked a bit more closely at some pictures on flickr and thought they looked faded, too light, the colours not saturated enough. But when I looked at them on another PC they looked fine. And suddenly it has worried me. When I view my shots on my phone they seem darker and some of the detail is lost in the shadows. And that's what troubles me about this pic. I wanted it dark, but not too dark as there is a lot of detail in the shadows.
How do we know when our screen is set so that it gives the same amount of brilliance and contrast as someone else? Is there a test you can do to set your screen up to a common industry standard?

These are not the same cats that I uploaded before (see photo in the first comment, there are 1 adult cat and 2 kittens).
I wanted to take more photos of these cats on Monday in the short lunchtime because we had some snow... but cats didn't want to walk in the snow 😂, they didn't want to get their paws cold... hahaha 😂 they were inside.
Well, of course... they are autumn cats, not winter cats. 😂

Thamudic and Nabataean inscriptions, depicting camel caravans, hunting warriors and various animals, are common throughout the Wadi Rum area. The Alameleh inscriptions, near the Seven Pillars of Wisdom and on the edge of the Diseh district, are some of the most comprehensive and best preserved.
The desert trips with the jeeps are well organised and I would recomend the 4 hour jeep trip, any excursion will be organised for you by Mr khaled.
My journey was long and dark, but after a precarious trek, I found myself on a faraway shore where a new Boneyard lay wait. Cautiously, I approached these so called “twilight beasts” and found them somewhat different from those that I have encountered from past travels. Covered in sharp bark like scales and writhing about with long tails, they clawed at the moon while slithering along the sandy coast. Wearily, I collected my nerves. Gently, I reached out with my mind, only to encounter a piercing howl that sent my head spinning. These creatures are suffering and I am the first person to hear their pain. And so, I decided to stay and listen so that one day I could tell their story.
It's time to get back to my stories of the boneyards in "Boneyard Journeys." With a long exposure of almost two and a half minutes, a rising tide and fogging lens, I wasn't sure this shot was going to work. This is an introduction to a short series at the Boneyard Beach on Big Talbot Island, Florida. Wishing everyone a wonderful day ahead.
