My personal favorite shot of the whole trip is this one, only because the sky at sunset had this beautiful orange glow as we drove through rows upon rows of Green Tea shrubs growing on the high plains of Shizuoka prefecture.
Pulled the camping car along side the road to get this 5xp freehand HDR shot taken in the afternoon on the second day of our 4-day camping car weekend.

The Amazon rainforest (Brazilian Portuguese: Floresta Amazônica or Amazônia; Spanish: Selva Amazónica or Amazonia), also known as Amazonia, or the Amazon jungle, is a moist broadleaf forest that covers most of the Amazon Basin of South America. This basin encompasses seven million square kilometers (1.7 billion acres), of which five and a half million square kilometers (1.4 billion acres) are covered by the rainforest. This region includes territory belonging to nine nations. The majority of the forest is contained within Brazil, with 60% of the rainforest, followed by Peru with 13%, and with minor amounts in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. States or departments in four nations bear the name Amazonas after it. The Amazon represents over half of the planet's remaining rainforests, and it comprises the largest and most species-rich tract of tropical rainforest in the world.
The Amazon rainforest was short-listed in 2008 as a candidate to one of the New7Wonders of Nature by the New Seven Wonders of the World Foundation. As of February 2009 the Amazon was ranking first in Group E, the category for forests, national parks and nature reserves.[1]

# In Brazil alone, European colonists have destroyed more than 90 indigenous tribes since the 1900’s. With them have gone centuries of accumulated knowledge of the medicinal value of rainforest species. As their homelands continue to be destroyed by deforestation, rainforest peoples are also disappearing.
# Most medicine men and shamans remaining in the Rainforests today are 70 years old or more. Each time a rainforest medicine man dies, it is as if a library has burned down.
# When a medicine man dies without passing his arts on to the next generation, the tribe and the world loses thousands of years of irreplaceable knowledge about medicinal plants.

Yesterdays sunset show many were talking about....here around Brisbane.
Hours before I observed these lines in the sky and was hoping it would hold on to that for a few more hours. I was pretty excited to get out for this shot and on the way home I knew I got a few special shots. This was the 3rd spectacular sunset in the last few days here in sunny QLD
My Tripot was knee deep in the water and I got Richard VERY close to my lens. Good on ya Richard!
I hate to break up, the addiction set, but since the cat is out of the bag now....
I am going to be a daddy again. The wife and I are pretty excited, so expect a new model around here at the end of the year.

L'Albufera lake, Valencia (Spain). HDR image made up from three different shots. The water is like a mirror as a consequence of the long exposure that has 'silkened' any ripples that there were. The photo was taken when the sun was completely hidden, so it was almost dark. However, depending of your screen, you can see the photo darker than it is.

While in Seattle with Ryan, visiting my dear friend Matt, we rented a Ford Fusion and went to Portland & Cannon Beach in Oregon. A ways outside of Portland, we picked up a massive amount of dark-room equipment from atop a mountain home, which remained in the trunk & full of chemicals (we later found out). I drove twelve~ hours in two days up and down mountains and in between giant trees.
With Matt sleeping in the back, Ryan and I managed to find our way to Cannon Beach, and wonderfully enough, the exact spot we wanted to photograph. We walked along the beach & taking long exposures (I held my shutter down with my index finger for sixteen minutes, in addition to having done several five to ten minute exposures). After becoming sufficiently cold/exhausted, the three of us climbed into our beloved Fusion to sleep. When I say sleep, I mean rest for fifteen minute intervals, whilst being unable to feel my toes because our dumb asses did not bring blankets. At some point Matt attempted to exit the vehicle, and the alarm went off, potentially blowing our we-are-parked-in-a-condo/hotel-parking-lot-please-do-not-notice-us facade. The Fusion has a pleasant feature un-allowing its inhabitants to exit.
After maybe a couple of hours of choppy sleep, Ryan and I stood on the beach and waited for the sunrise, thusly producing this photograph. One of the most wonderful sights I had ever witnessed. You can see his image here. The tiny person in his photograph is me taking this one :))

This house is next to a railroad tracks near Patapsco State Park. It has a unique look that I've always admired. I took the photo while driving (slowly). This is on Marriottsville Road in Howard County, MD. It looks like this will be the only "significant" snow of the season in Maryland this year.
December began cold and snowy, but the meteorological winter ended yesterday, March 2nd - 2.3 degrees above long-term averages for BWI Airport (Baltimore, USA). Precipitation fell short again this winter in our area. Central Maryland only saw 8.5 inches of snow through February - the sixth skimpiest total in 20 years.

This is a set of 54/ 30 sec exposures captured at ISO400 f3.5. 10mm fisheye, for a total of 27 minutes of startrails.
Saturday was just tooo good a day to waste. Went out at 6 am to get the sunrise on the ice covered lake, back out at 3-ish to shoot a little old house with a fellow flickrite, and after supper, back to the lake to get in the moonrise and of course some star trails. Got to play with the fisheye again!!!!! Will post the others as I get to them.

Hemsedal is a municipality in the county of Buskerud, Norway. Hemsedal is the second largest ski resort in Norway and has the largest number of millionaires per capita. The Norse form of the name was Hemsudalr. The first element is the genitive case of a rivername Hemsa (now Hemsil), the last element is dalr m 'valley, dale'.
Photo taken from our bungalow with a magnificient view on the Hydnefossen waterfall. Paragliding is a popular sport in Norway. In ridge soaring, pilots fly along the length of a ridge feature in the landscape, relying on the lift provided by the air which is forced up as it passes over the ridge.
Hemsedal is een gemeente in de Noorse provincie Buskerud. De gemeente telde 1909 inwoners. Paragliding wordt redelijk veel beoefend in Noorwegen. Het z.g. soaring is langs een berghelling vliegen en door de hellingstijgwind op dezelfde hoogte blijven, of zelfs hoger komen.
