Butterfly at the Jardin Botanique

Nothing like a good flip and lots of blending to get this side-by-side selfies of sorts.

After shooting this amazing doorway cloaked in ivy and ferns, I left the camera on the tripod and thought I would get in the picture (I have so many), then I took the same pic of Marybeth. In PS, I tiles the image by flipping MB's side, The center fern looked obviously tiled so I worked on it with the history brush (you can see the resemblance to the one on the left). I also made a bunch of changes to the stone work so it didn't look exactly symmetrical (again, all with a history brush), I even reversed the logo on MB's hat so it appears "normal".

Have a nice Sunday!

Colored facades under the sun

Facades along the Saone river at Macon shine under the sun. We also can see the 2 towers of the old St. Vincent, former cathedral of Macon before the French Revolution.

This very old church was mainly built in its present form between the eleventh century and the fourteenth century. It was unfortunately partially destroyed during the French Revolution.

By the river, there is normally a quay which allows a nice little walk under Saint-Laurent Bridge. Here we just see the railing of the quay, the quay itself is under water.

Every morning, at nearly every weather, there's at least one group performing Taiji (太极拳 tàijíquán) on the Bund. Taken on a cold December morning, just before the sun appears behind the Pudong skyscrapers.

After all the show lights are off there's still enough of it. At night also the fog creeps in...

Long exposure shot of Mary's Shell at sunset shot in autumn / fall 2015. Mary's shell is a steel sculpture / public art on Cleveleys beach near Blackpool in Lancashire, England. It was installed on 25 September 2013. It is entirely exposed at low tide you can climb inside. At high tide only the highest part of the sculpture is visible above the waves. The sculpture is 4.6m tall, 8 m long and weighs 16.5 tonnes and has words from the story "Sea Swallow" etched inside.

1950 Buick Super convertible car in Havana photographed on the last day of my holiday in Cuba. It was a hot sunny day and ideal for tourists taking a tour of Old Havana in these old american convertible cars.

I have loved his rough look from the day I met him. His name suits his looks - and if he wore clothes, it had to be denim...

Many thanks to David for suggesting the music, which of course must be ZZ Top's Rough boy. :)

On January 8 1984 the Commonwealth Speakers and Presiding Officers conference began in Wellington, New Zealand. The conference ran until January 15. The Conference brings together the Speakers and Presiding Officers of the national parliaments of the independent sovereign states of the Commonwealth. It was created in 1969 as an initiative of the Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada, the Honourable Lucien Lamoureux.

The Conference is an independent group and has no formal affiliation with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, the Commonwealth Secretariat or the Commonwealth Heads of Government. The conference operates on a two-year cycle, holding a conference of the full membership every two years, usually early in January, and a meeting of the Standing Committee at the same time the intervening year.

The Conference aims to:

•Maintain, foster, and encourage impartiality and fairness on the part of Speakers and Presiding Officers of Parliaments;

•Promote knowledge and understanding of parliamentary democracy in its various forms; and

•Develop parliamentary institutions.

Pictured here are the speakers of Parliament, on the steps of the Parliament in Wellington, New Zealand. The last Commonwealth Speakers and Presiding Officers conference held in Wellington was in 2014.
