Walking to the top of the cliff to enjoy the sunrise om the Atlantic Ocean at Percé.

A juvenile Green Heron, I believe, photographed late last summer at Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge, near Saginaw, Michigan

HBW!

As of 7/1/25, I am correcting my earlier ID. I now think that this is a juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron.

Those crisp cloud-funnels looked almost like smoke!

It was pretty stormy here all through September...

Lying halfway between Lisbon and Oporto in the Beiras region of central Portugal, venerable Coimbra nestles on the banks of the River Mondego in dignified glory. Famed for its university - the oldest in the country - and a fantastic collection of handsome churches, serene monasteries, and lively cultural institutions, Coimbra is also a busy commercial hub with its many shops, boutiques, and appetizing choice of cafés and restaurants. The city center is divided into two neighborhoods, the Lower Town and the Upper Town. Its historic heart lies high above the Mondego on Alcaçova hill, known to the Romans as Aeminium. Here, medieval convents, cathedrals, and some fine museums cluster around the old University. Kings were born in Coimbra; they are entombed here, too. Indeed, it was once the proud capital of the Portuguese nation. This royal heritage permeates the city's steep hills, narrow lanes, and verdant parks, all of which are best explored on foot. And exploration further afield is rewarded with the largest and most compelling Roman site in Portugal, and an emerald-hued forest of enchanting allure and breathtaking beauty.

In terms of historic significance and romantic beauty, Coimbra is second only to Lisbon and Oporto. Its ancient buildings cling to the side of the hill that rises above the curves of the river Mondego, the ornate buildings of the famous University of Coimbra are its crowning glory. We are accessing the old part of the city through the Arco de Almedina, we find the old cathedral known as Se Velha. The most picturesque way to enter Coimbra's labyrinth of lanes is via Arco de Almedina. Coimbra's upper town rises quickly and picturesquely from the banks of the Rio Mondego. Photo taken from Hotel Astória.

Today I was going by bike again. I have visited three "heads" (Kleinheppacher Kopf - 452 m, Hörnleskopf - 426 m and Korber Kopf - 456 m).

On the picture you see the view from Korber Kopf at the vineyard and the town Korb (a municipality in the Rems-Murr district, 15 km northeast of Stuttgart).

Man walking on the shore at the Forillon National Park under the sunlight rays through the clouds.

Everyone loves spring.

The weather starts to warm, the birds start to sing, kittens and puppies are everywhere. Leaves come out and flowers bloom.

Beautiful spring in Finland.

My Favorite house in Gaspesie. Unfortunately this house was eaten by several cold winters and wind and it's on the floor right now.

canon5d2+samyang 14mm f2,8 20s iso4000 - 20 shots with geminids merged of about 500 totally made during continious shooting on december 14/15.

After i returned back home from the forest lake where i was shooing privious pano with meteors i sat down in my garden chair and just stared at meteors falling here and there. The activity was really fine and i wanted to relax a bit, so i left camera shooting automatically with 20s exposures. After an hour and a half i went to sleep and when i got up i realised my 14mm lens was covered with hoar frost! Was a bit pity, but as i founf later i had already captured some great meteors which i merged into this resulting image. So sad the upper left geminid didnt fit the frame properly!! Perhaps the next year i'll try to shoot some shower using 8mm samyang lens thus aiming to cath the big fat ones mostly xD

Also check my other meteor showers composites:
