At the beginning of September, I discovered this wild hop plant growing by the Erft river. The hop cones are almost ripe—a subtle sign that summer is coming to an end and autumn is just around the corner.
These papery, aromatic cones are typical of the female plant and are usually harvested in late summer for brewing, although this plant grows freely in the wild.

Anfang September entdeckte ich diese wilde Hopfenpflanze , die an der Erft wächst. Die Hopfendolden sind fast reif - ein leises Zeichen dafür, dass sich der Sommer dem Ende zuneigt und der Herbst vor der Tür steht.
Diese papierartigen, aromatischen Dolden sind typisch für die weibliche Pflanze und werden normalerweise im Spätsommer für die Brauerei geerntet, obwohl diese Pflanze in der Natur frei wächst.

Yesterday was the first Advent. And then I realized that the Christmas season ist just around the corner again. A time that should actually be marked by contemplation and love. Unfortunately, this period is often rather hectic and stressful.
So I thought to myself, there is still a little time. Let's treat ourselves to some lightness in the coming week.
This little dove's tail, as it seems to float weightlessly from flower to flower, is meant to symbolize that and carry it to you.
And maybe together we can manage to preserve a bit of this feeling over the Christmas season.
Gestern war der erste Advent. Und da wurde mir bewusst, dass wieder einmal die Weihnachtszeit vor der Tür steht. Eine Zeit, die eigentlich im Zeichen von Besinnlichkeit und Liebe stehen sollte. Doch bedauerlicherweise ist dieser Zeitraum oft eher hektisch und stressig.
Also dachte ich mir, es ist ja noch ein wenig Zeit. Gönnen wir uns doch in der komenden Woche etwas Leichtigkeit.
Dieses Taubenschwänzchen, wie es scheinbar schwerelos von Blüte zu Blüte schwebt, soll diese symbolisieren und zu Euch tragen.
Und vielleicht gelingt es uns ja gemeinsam ein bisschen was von diesem Gefühl über die Weihnachtszeit zu bewahren.

Halte an nichts fest das sich nicht mehr gut anfühlt du wirst sehen wie sich die Realitäten shiften sei dir bewusst das du es selbst in der Hand hast. du wirst sehen das das Universum stehts an deiner Seite ist du wirst den halt spüren die Ausrichtung die Zeichen werden dich finden durch deine Geistführer bleib im vertrauen den du bist genau so wie du bist wundervoll denn du bist die eine die Wunder vollbringt und es manchmal gar nicht bemerkt. Wir werden dir die Möglichkeit schenken deine wunderschönen Flügen zu sehen so das du erkennen kannst wie wundervoll du bist mach dich also auf Grosse wunder gefasst. Denn du meine liebe bist das Heilige Wasser das die Uralten wunden heilt nicht nur die der Anderen sondern auch deine. Investiere mehr in dich selbst nicht um sonst ist das Krafttier Fuchs an deiner Seite er lehrt dich dich selbst zu lieben deinen Eigenen Kelch zuerst zu füllen bevor du andere befüllst.

Für die schönen Dinge im Leben ist dieses Zeichen im Vordergrund ein absolutes Streben nach etwas, was immerwährend sein soll. SIGNS OF AUTUMN is the topic for Wed Sept 25 2024, Group Our Daily Challenge
In November 1940, German bombers destroyed the English city of Coventry and its St. Michael's Cathedral.
The then cathedral provost Richard Howard had three large carpenter's nails from the roof of the destroyed cathedral, which were recovered from the rubble, put together to form a cross.
He also had the words "FATHER FORGIVE" carved into the ruin's chancel wall and a large cross assembled from two charred wooden beams.
In January and April 1945, the city of Nuremberg was also reduced to rubble. There were numerous victims. The old citizen Dom Saint Sebald shared the fate of his city and its residents.
The Coventry Cross of Nails, the first of which was assembled from three nails from the burned roof of the cathedral, now stands as a sign of reconciliation in many centers around the world.
It was awarded to the Sebaldus Church on Repentance and Prayer Day 1999.
Since then, the Coventry Prayer of Reconciliation has been prayed here every Friday at 12:00 p.m.
I thought to sharing this,In times like this, when terrible wars happen in the world, it would be a reminder to reflect on reconciliation.

Im November 1940 vernichteten deutsche Bomber die englische Stadt Coventry und ihre St. Michaelskathedrale.
Der damalige Dompropst Richard Howard ließ drei große Zimmermannsnägel aus dem Dachstuhl der zerstörten Kathedrale, die aus den Trümmern geborgen wurden, zu einem Kreuz zusammensetzen.
Er ließ außerdem die Worte „FATHER FORGIVE“ (Vater vergib) in die Chorwand der Ruine meißeln und aus zwei verkohlten Holzbalken ein großes Kreuz zusammensetzen.
Im Januar und im April 1945 sang die Stadt Nürnberg ebenfalls in Schutt und Asche. Zahlreiche Opfer waren zu beklagen. Der alte Bürger Dom Sankt Sebald teilte das Schicksal seiner Stadt und ihre Bewohner.
Das Nagelkreuz von Coventry, das erste war aus drei Nägeln des verbrannten Dachstuhls der Kathedrale zusammengefügt, steht heute als Zeichen der Versöhnung in vielen Zentren der Welt.
Am Buß und Bettag 1999 wurde es der Sebaldus Kirche verliehen.
Jeden Freitag um 12:00 Uhr wird hier seither das Versöhnungsgebet von Coventry gebetet.
Ich dachte dass in Zeiten wie diesen mit schlimmen Kriegen in der Welt wäre eine Besinnung auf Versöhnung angebracht.

Die Singschwäne balzten schön beim schönsten Wetter auf einem Acker bei Friedrichskoog. Es war eine Gruppe von bestimmt 200 Tieren, auffällig war, dass sehr viele Jungtiere mit dabei waren. Ein gutes Zeichen.
The whooper swans were mating in beautiful weather on a field near Friedrichskoog. There was a group of at least 200 birds, and it was noticeable that there were a lot of juveniles among them. A good sign.
Standortwechsel nach Spital am Pyhrn. Hier wurde der G 54793 erwartet, ein gemischter Güterzug, der regulär auf der Pyhrnbahn verkehrt. Am 21. April 2016 waren für die Beförderung die 1142.665 und 1144.272 eingeteilt. Erstere in einem traumhaften Pflegezustand und ihres Zeichens letzte Lok der Baureihe im Valousek-Design mit ÖBB Bildmarke - vulgo "Pflatsch". Im Hintergrund das Sengsengebirge.
Next stop was Spital am Pyhrn. Here I awaited mixed freight train G 54793 which runs regularly on this track. At the 21st of April 2016 ÖBB's 1142.665 and 1144.272 where scheduled for this job. The first one is actually in a prefect maintaining condition and the last one of its class in the red-grey livery with the former ÖBB blip - called "Pflatsch". In the background you can see the mountains of the Sengsengebirge in the national park "Austrian chalk alps".
