I totally fell from a curb yesterday evening. When I couldn't put on my pants or shoes this morning, much less straighten my leg, I went to the ER. It is not broken, only angry and swollen.

Note the reticular ('rings connected by wavy lines') appearance of the interstitial opacities - compare with the linear (straight) opacities of intersitital pulmonary oedema. Also contrast the peripheral distribution of this typical "interstitial pattern" with the mainly central distribution of a "bronchovascular pattern" in such conditions as chronic bronchitis (in COPD) or bronchiectasis.

I wondered if I'd broken my big toe, but apparently not.

Got my X-rays on a CD from brocker, and I was able to open em' up and look at em. I'll get a professional analysis on them tomorrow.

x-rays from my 4 week exam. I'm really uploading these for my physio, but they are impressive. I'm doing a lot better now.

First shot using Fuji HR-T XRAY Film (green sensitive) double-sided.

Zeiss Jena 135mm f/4.5 (Contessa Nettel 1924)

1 sec f/6.3 @ 80 iso

Developed in D-76, diluted 1:4, for 10min circa.

This is a nice film tone for portraits, much better than the blue sensitive paper negatives.

This film is super-cheap. I bought 100 sheets (24x18cm) for 50 euros. I divide each sheet in 12x9cm quarters. That's 400 sheets for 50 euro-bucks. I bought from www.ilemedical.it

Naturally there are downsides:

1) the film is really prone to scratches and water spots

2) the film is double-sided, resulting in even more unavoidable scratches. I processed the film in 5x7 inches trays, adding a a glass bottom to the tray in order to avoid scratches to the underside film as much as possible. The glass doesn't scratch the film but it can cause suction if it lies flat on it, resulting in the film gluing itself to the bottom of the tray.

3) being double-sided, the image is quite soft and the double grain tends to blur the details. You can strip one side of the negative using bleach, but it can be a quite destructive process. The next image in the gallery is a stripping test, and the grain is nice and the image very detailed.

Many thanks to Spock (Luis M Analogo) for providing much valuable information about his process with this film.

Colored pencil on pastel paper / 2011

Me...sleeping...barely remembering to take a picture. I swore I was going to remember earlier... but as i was falling asleep while writing a card to someone, I rolled over, snapped this shot. It sucked, so I messed around with it so badly to compensate for the lack of photo quality. BUT, I did get my sp done!

random fact: I'm sponsoring my roommate and her boyfriend to go on a Walk to Emmaus Christian retreat (soooooo amazing) and it's a lot of preparation to get ready for the event. So between that, the girls retreat I'm planning for our youth, the Mexico mission trip I'm planning, having a student teacher, and oh yeah....my regular job and normal responsibilities with youth group--I'm swamped.
