The self portraits in this series were initially shot using a Canon Rebel XSi. They were loaded onto a MacBook Pro and edited in Photoshop. Next, using the MacBook and a traditional darkroom, they were printed by turning on the laptop screen to expose photo paper for about 2.5 seconds. This process created the unique stamp that appears on each black and white image. The prints were digitally scanned and appear here.
This is an xray of my sons back taken on 09-06-06.
He was 3yr 5mo old at the time.
He has a 78 degs curviture.
He has been in Braces and body casts since he was 16 months old.
We will be visiting the Shriners Children Hospital in Erie, Pa. on November 6th to get a new type of body cast.
We hope that the special casts that they do there will reduce the curviture enouph that he will not need the surgery to implant metal rods in his back.
Day 43. I was told it was a dislocated fracture of tib and fib. This is one of the x-rays from Skye that I had to take with me to the fracture clinic in the local Infirmary. It was absolute chaos for two hours before I was seen and admitted - even though they were expecting me and they had already seen the x-rays online.
The xray i brought home i had to press it up to the window to take a picture. im leaning over because i couldnt stand up straight. I was told i had the symptoms of a bulging disc, and that it was pinching a nerve making my muscles spasm and the muscles were pulling my spine open. Needless to say i was leaning to my right side walking like a granny XD but i was misdiagnosed like 3x before i got the person that told me it was a torn ligament so its fixed now thank goodness!
This is what my bones will look like for the rest of my life, post getting doored.
I will eternally set off airport metal detectors.
that awkward moment when you realize that you're going to have to live with this for the rest of your life.
I'll get around to posting more pix from my trip last week and visiting your photostreams soon. Honest. It's been a tiring week. But before I resume, I thought I'd raise my left foot -- as imaged by a radiologist and posted to Flickr via a photo taken by my doctor with his iPhone.
I got a clean bill of health. My doc just wanted the image while he was checking out some foot pain I was feeling during my trip.
radiation pattern of the xray tube. i just put a film in front of my radiator as close as possible. clearly there is more radiation than i use or need. the anode at the top makes the shadow, also the focussing cylinder of the cathode. we can also see a bit of the filament. the 4 white warped things around the middle are simply screws in the barrel wall that allow me to attach a filter.
im going to take more shots of all around the radiator, see if there is hard radiation to the back, etc.
