Any idea what causes the blotched area on the right hand side (pale strip down the side)?
I am getting a lot of this type of defect in my x-ray film photos.

A vacuum tube behind a phosphor screen makes it glow green from the X-rays it's emitting - it's being powered by several thousand volts in this photo.

The emitted X-rays are not at all evenly emitted - tricky to get good photos from this.
I wanted to check the emitted rays were in fact X-rays - so I put my finger between the vacuum tube and the phosphor screen.
It faintly showed what looked like the bone in the tip of my finger. The bone gets "thicker" towards the top due to the emitter being so close to my finger.
Great result! It's time to construct a simple stand to make some of my first X-ray images.
Day 43. I was told it was a dislocated fracture of tib and fib. This is one of the x-rays from Skye that I had to take with me to the fracture clinic in the local Infirmary. It was absolute chaos for two hours before I was seen and admitted - even though they were expecting me and they had already seen the x-rays online.
Last year I broke my ankle. It finally got better.
A month ago I fractured the same ankle in two places. The Dr gave me a boot which I have worn religiously ever since to try and help it.
I had X-Rays and an MRI done this past week and have now been told that I have several pieces of broken cartilage floating around my foot. There is a LOT of swelling and bruising and for that to go down so that the Dr can operate, I have to stay OFF MY FOOT COMPLETELY.
FOR A MONTH.
That is practically impossible. I have waaaaay too much to do to stay off it. I have no clue how I'm going to manage that!

My brother fell out of his bed last night and broke his wrist. This is our mom looking at the x-rays.
This is an x-ray of my cat, Groganov. What you're looking at here is about a linear foot of cat poo followed by a giant nascent cat fart, inflating his lower intestine.
Because I have the mind of a juvenile.
