This is a sample of a kaleidoscope tessellation requested by, and created for, a friend (Gina) I met here on Flickr. She makes candy wrappers, gift wrap, bookmarks, etc., but her site is no longer online, so I'm not sure where to get her products any longer.
Only sample tiles are available for viewing since I used her original picture instead of one of my own or one from Flickr with a CC license.
December 15 - Holiday Gifts
Getting ready to wrap gifts this evening....I'm behind on everything this year.
I accumulate way too many paper bags from Trader Joe's. Here, I use them to wrap presents for my brother and sister in law.
When re-using paper grocery bags as wrapping paper, I find it becomes necessary to up the ante on ribbon and overall presentation (even though - look! a handle!), while maintaining a clean simplicity... you're not trying to hide the fact that you've wrapped something in a grocery bag but to enhance it and to give it a dignified afterlife. So please - no curled pink ribbon.
I used a deep aqua twine - perhaps too understated for the task - with some fresh eucalyptus that I happened to buy at the farmers market this afternoon.
Overall, I'm pleased with the outcome.

Wrapping Paper is Fun!: This little nephew kept us all entertained with his obsession with the paper. Almost as soon as he opened a present he would dance, waving the paper in the air or roll around in it on the floor. He was hilarious!
Caught up.... again!
Just wrapping up some presents for the student tutor. One's a brick (to weight the box down or 'build her dream home') and the other's a USB fish tank! All put into one big shoe-box (which was wrapped later!) - I put a proper tag on that one too!
