I went a little nuts at Home Goods and bought a BUNCH of their Christmas wrapping paper to use in collages. They have the best papers and this year I decided to buy them early in December rather than wait for after Christmas sales.

My wrapping paper for this year. Presents are ALL WRAPPED, yay me!

I made it! 365 pictures in 365 days. My goal was to use the project to force myself to improve my photographic skills, and I feel that I achieved that goal - I am consistently taking better pictures now than when I started the project, and I'm happy about that.

I don't plan on continuing the project next year. I feel that I need the license to take days off when I'm very busy or otherwise feeling uncreative. I'll continue to take pictures and post them most days, but when I'm just not feeling it I'll take a break. This way I'll stress out less about my photography and be able to enjoy it more; having to take a picture every day was feeling like a chore at times by the end of the project. But even when it felt like a chore, I appreciated the progress that I made. I am very proud of how far I have come!

So I'm putting a wrap on the project, with wrapping paper as my final subject. I decided to shoot it with my macro lens; perhaps the 35mm lens would have been a better choice, but the macro is my favorite and I wanted to finish the project with it. I'm beginning to use the lens more effectively, which pleases me, and I wanted to get up close to my subject because I enjoy doing that.

So the project is wrapped up, with a bow on top. I feel a real sense of achievement in having completed this, and have picked up a lot of knowledge that I will put to good use moving forward.

Whew - I did it!

One of Stella's favorite activities is ripping up paper. You can imagine how much she enjoyed her first Christmas.

My boyfriend wrapped my birthday present with Paul Frank wrapping paper but ran out.

He used the torn BAPE camo. page from his magazine to cover up the rest. But he didn't have enough of that for both sides, so this side was exposed a little.

...for my little sister! She turns 19 tomorrow.

Actually, the painting is a belated Christmas present, oops. I started painting it in December, and I FINALLY finished it today. I haven't painted in a long time!

The wrapped present is her *actual* birthday present, a book called Wreck This Journal.

I hope you are as happy as a dog in a pile of wrapping paper :)

I'm a slacker and am just now finishing my present wrapping. To be honest, I still have presents to buy! Procrastination? CHECK!

I decided to REALLY take the time this year to hand-make all of my wrapping accessories. The black flowers are actually pins that can be taken off the packages and be placed on cardigans, scarves, etc. The nametags, which aren't seen in these pictures are my favorite part. They're so pretty and festive. Maybe I'll post a picture of them soon!

Apparently, Sesame Street wrapping paper and exciting new toys do nothing for him.

Emilia's first Christmas highlight: tearing wrapping paper.

No more presents!! Time to rest.

PRESENTS!!!

These are actually Nicholas' presents, from me, and most have them have been wrapped and under the tree since November. LOLz

Wrapping Christmas gifts.

I wrapped artist canvases with Martha Stewart wrapping paper that I picked up at Michaels on clearance. I hung these on my kitchen wall to jazz it up a little.

we were on our way to a wedding

first came the wrapping paper

then the dress, stashed in my closet

and finally, the taxidermy bullfrog

has a new home.

not just the things,

although the things are important

that they be functional

that they be beautiful

that they be cared for

not just the objects but the thoughts

the words

the soft looks between us

make them all into art
