This is a sample of a kaleidoscope tessellation requested by, and created for, a friend (Gina) I met here on Flickr. She makes candy wrappers, gift wrap, bookmarks, etc., but her site is no longer online, so I'm not sure where to get her products any longer.

Only sample tiles are available for viewing since I used her original picture instead of one of my own or one from Flickr with a CC license.

Old wrapping paper from my grandfather's store.

This year, instead of traditional "To & From" gift labels, all of the gifts that we gave had a tag with a photo of the recipient. These turned out to be great fun! The kids enjoyed seeing funny pictures of their parents as cool teenagers, older folks enjoyed seeing photos of themselves as a child, and everyone got to see how the whole family has grown up.

I really, really recommend it. I got the templates for the photo gift tags here.

Not an epic load, but pretty tough to have carried on a regular bike, and so easy on the X.

This year's wrapping paper collection includes snowmen, stockings, and balls for the tree.

Some of this is now listed on Etsy, some of it is still sitting on my workbench...

I found an awesome roll of wrapping paper at Savers the other day for 99-cents. I thought the print and thin paper-bag texture would make for some great Vagabond die action. I was right. I cut a few pieces and used colored pencils, something I haven't touched in years, to jazz it up a bit. I was so pleased with the results I made a birthday card for my mother-in-law with one of my cut-outs.

The piece at center-left was torn, scrunched and aged with ink in an attempt to make it appear leather-like. It actually worked, and I can't wait to try a larger piece and maybe apply it to a book. These will probably go into my Smash Book.
