Office wars at work... and I stayed late to take the win.

Flower printed wrapping paper

Organic cotton sateen reusable gift wrap, made with original fabric that I designed. Perfect for small gifts such as CDs, DVDs, and jewelry boxes.

Jan 14 was the 1-year anniversary of my Picture365 project (full suite of photos at www.picture365.net). It has led to such personal innovations as:

Sliced Fruit

Self Portraits

Lighting

Backgrounds

Backdrops

Macro

Micro

Time Lapse

Judgement Lapse

Punny Titles

and all sorts of attempts to "get that picture today." It's been so much fun, really (and it was inspired by all the great photos I see on Flickr), that I am extending it another year- Picture365 Take 2 (though the website will remain the same).

The photographic journey has been one of baby steps- not epiphanies, though I still hope for one. I suppose if there was an epiphany, it was that becoming a better photographer is, in fact, achieved by taking Baby Steps.

Each day, I had to take a photo of something, and not my hand or something stupid. So I had to experiment, crack open the camera's manual, whatever, to try to get something different. Some things worked, some things didn't. I ended up with some good tools to use, and some ideas on composition.

Here's to another year and the hope that at the very least, I learn as much more in 2008 as I did in 2007.

Check out my Picture365 set for the better shots of what worked best.

... more playing with putting kaleidoscopes in front of each other - this is looking at some shiny gold wrapping paper

I needed some pretty, vintagey but not too kitschy giftboxes for christmas - and figured you could use some, too!

These gifts come as

- decorative version (COPY/MOD): one linked set à five boxes, Land impact 3, plus five single giftboxes , land impact <1 each.

or as

-giftable version (TRANSFER/MOD): one linked set plus five single giftboxes - if you unlink the set you get 10 packages to fill and give out!

Available at the mainstore in Essex - at the Christmas gazebo

This is a sample of a kaleidoscope tessellation requested by, and created for, a friend (Gina) I met here on Flickr. She makes candy wrappers, gift wrap, bookmarks, etc., but her site is no longer online, so I'm not sure where to get her products any longer.

Only sample tiles are available for viewing since I used her original picture instead of one of my own or one from Flickr with a CC license.

just some of my vintage stash; my Mom gave me a whole box of this!! I love it, and have only used it by scanning and printing the designs.

Papers ready to go in between two pieces of laminate for a sturdy binder, journal, doodler or notecard binder cover!

An entry for the Challenge Group 115 pictures in 2015 No.49, Ribbons & Bows.

Running short of ideas for the last couple of topics, so have been looking to photoshop for a bit of inspiration...

Could not chose between these two.

he just sat and sat while we draped him in paper, etc, he seemed quite happy to just sit and then lie, he was there in the middle of the room for hours!!!!

Each individually written in blue calligraphy ink

That princess paper is SO pretty, but the roll wasn't very big at all. :(

I finally got the chance to use a couple of decorative pins. I also tucked a few tiny pressed flowers into the vintage ribbon bow.

The corner stamps are from a Halloween set. I'm really liking the cursive birthday greeting stamp, part of a larger set I had been drooling at whenever I went to Michael's. It's a touch wonky, but that's the charm of hand-made, right?

Some very old vintage (circa 1983) smurf wrapping paper that my mother used for my gift this year. That was almost as cool as the gift. Sometimes my mom surprises me.

There just isn't anything to say about this, except that it's for today's fugger challenge, SPs w/ Phallic Objects.

Make that special gift a true surprise with this colorful and fun gift wrap from designdesign.us

Made of faux fur (not sure exactly what colour it is) blue ribbon, 2 pom pom balls made of the same faux fur.

Know someone that's snooping? Hide that special gift in fun gift wrap from designdesign.us

Well stop rolling around in it, willya?

Chicago Printed String Company dates its origins back to 1898 to a company founded by Aron Weiner outside Prague in what is now the Czech Republic. The business made cotton bands that surrounded hats. Weiner moved to Chicago in 1912 – 1913 and founded Chicago Printed String in 1915. Its business was now advertising tape: cotton yarn imprinted with a company name used for binding, which it called Print-Ad-String. RIBBONETTE featured material comparable to silk and satin ribbons. The company moved to what became 65,000 square feet of space at 2300 W. Logan Blvd. in 1929. By 1960, it was reported the company produced 600 million yards of decorative ribbons and 210,000 reams of wrapping paper. To show its diversification, the company changed its name to CPS Industries in 1965. Shortly thereafter, it moved its production facilities to Tennessee and, two years later, was sold to Papercraft Corporation. Faced with the wrecker’s ball, the building was saved in 2004 and currently houses a fitness center.
