So I know this quote really doesn't have much to do with this shot, but I foundi t and thought it was hilarious!

Did some more decorating yesterday, and as you can see, some people were more concerned with eating ice cream and drinking than helping! Guess they were bored!

And of course "Christmas Vacation" with Chevy Chase was in the DVD player! One of, if not the BEST Christmas movies!!!

Enjoy your Sunday my friends!

Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and best wishes for the new year to everyone!

Abstracts are not everyone's cup of tea, but to me this would make nice wrapping paper.

We are looking at the topside of a lettuce sea slug (Elysia crispata). It was down in a crevice, so this angle was my only option. They are usually blue and white with a bit of pink. My hunch is that this one ate a different set of algae, giving it a distinctive color palette.

Along with our busy holiday week-end, we also attended a friend's wedding on Saturday. My husband was the wedding photographer. I managed to snap a few along the way. This image is from our gift that we gave the couple. The wrapping paper I used had images of Victorian little girls playing dress-up. This is of the wedding image. I cut her out and glued it onto the wedding card envelope. I then added glitter spray to add some sparkle. I think she is so cute!

My effort for the Relf family Christmas hat competition 2007

Gosh - thanks for all the comments my friends! I've had trouble getting online, as I am competing with the lovely Relfy and our father. Incidentally, my sister's hat is here:

:-)

I'll try and look at yours soon. But in the meantime, hope you're all having a great holiday!!

Scharf auf Süßigkeiten. Auf einen Lutscher.

I do not know exactly how it is so common elsewhere – here in Germany incredibly many sweets are distributed on the carnival parades, thrown from the cars into the crowd.

When she was little, my daughter was disguised as a tightrope walker during one of these parades. Sugar sweet – but the disguise was sometime secondary – and the bags full of sweets much more exciting ;-)

The plastic-wrapped object of desire in this picture is a type of a lollipop that my mother sometimes brought from shopping when I was little. Very delicious and wonderful to look at. If you are curious, see the link:

Ingredients: lollipop, photographic print, sunlight.

Another holiday, another excuse to chase my cats around with a camera in a chaotic mess of an attempt to capture some cute photos of the furry devils. This time it was Biscuits and Frank who were the most cooperative, though that’s only relative to Gravy (who dug his claws into my foot and brought the photo session to an early and unpleasant end). Still, I’m pretty happy with the results!

Another dull day today and by the time I got around to taking my photo the light had all but gone. So I had to use my speedlite which I haven't really got the hang of so it's pure guesswork.

We are out for a Christmas meal tonight and have to take a couple of gifts for the Secret Santa...at least it gave me an idea for my POTD!

Have a nice Friday and a good start into the weekend. 🌸

Many, many thanks for all your views, faves and comments.

This is the help I get when wrapping my presents. From my archives just too busy at the moment for new shots

Well, not really. More like that's a beginning, but that's not as snappy when it comes to a title.

As you may have guessed I started the Christmas wrapping this afternoon and figured since I had everything out, why not set up a flat lay and get my photo done at a reasonable time.

Glad I did.

Hope everyone has had a good day.

There is always someone around to "help" you when you're wrapping gifts here at Cat Hill Farm

Need some paper shredded?

Need some bows chewed on?

No problem. We have several cats here that would be happy to assist you.

There are more ways than one to enjoy a shark attack!

Couldn't resist posting this for the group,

Smile on Saturday! :-) whose theme for the week

is "Paper" . . .

...that, no matter what you buy them, the 'kids' always end up playing with the wrapping more than the gift itself :-) This is sweet little Ella peeping out from her Christmas wrap tent - the paper was covering a new little cat condo we bought them.

Happy Holidays my dear Flickr friends, however you celebrate the season - or not. Wishing you all the very best and thank you for your kind support, friendship, and amazing inspiration.

In our house you can always be assured there will be at least one cat around to give you a hand when your trying to wrap presents!

Not been out a lot recently with camera(in a bit of a stalemate with inspiration) so dipped into the archives ,as our processing skills improve we see images in a different eye......merry christmas everyone

This is her favorite sentence right now. It is her asking me to sing "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" with her. We do this about 100x a day now :)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all my flickr friends!

Merry Christmas to all our lovely Flickr friends, from me & Barney & his little "brother" Flynn too!

Gosh, what a strange & difficult year 2020 has been. Hopefully 2021 will see things begin to get back to something like normality. Like many people around the world this year, our Christmas has been quiet & spent at home... The collies & I have been enjoying ourselves though - nice food (a vegetarian roast dinner for me... stinky dried buffalo tails for the dogs!), pressies all round & we went for a lovely potter in the orchards this afternoon - no snow sadly but blue skies & frosty fields. Barney was just happy because he got to take part in his favourite Christmas Day tradition of shredding the wrapping paper up. Haha, he seemed to think I might want to join in the fun today & kept trying to pass me pieces! I'm not so good at ripping stuff up as he is though ;-)

The silhouette of a black cat sits on a windowsill and watches snowflakes fall from the sky. Fairy lights are hanging from the ceiling and a stack of gift wrapped parcels on the floor indicate it is Christmastime.
