I was contemplating a new design with this lotus bead and accents when the blue glass beads just fell onto the table! I think the Universe is telling me I needed to consider some extra color to the mix. I love it! Going to wrap these up with some dark oxidized bronze.
My version of "True Blue"In My NaNoJouMo file folder journal is a little darker then most so far ;) Work In Progress
As you can see there is a lot of tedious, time-consuming work involved in gourd carving. Where it has been carved out, it has been sanded smooth by hand. Some of the gourd was carved with my dremmel and other, more intricate areas with my Xacto knife.
Will post the next progress shots either tomorrow (Easter Day) or Monday.
Have a wonderful Sunday and Happy Easter to all!
Gotta love how sheer this fabric is and how when you hold a project up you can see all the junk on the backside. :P

Works in Progress. These portraits were made during the Kids Holiday Program with Laura Carey in April 2011
I didn't really take proper before and after photos. I should have done it while there were still holes and plugs all over the wall. Anyway, it's a sort of work in progress so I can remind myself how much hard work it was. My painting/ scraping/ ironing/ texting arm really aches but I can just about type!!
The new portrait commission I'm working on now. Paper size is 11 inches by 14 inches. This is at 1 hour and 50 minutes. Basically all I've done is lay it all out with an HB pencil.
I applied the first coat of color to the areas where the mountains and forest will be. As you can see it will definitely take several coats to get where we want.
MIRANDOLA - DUOMO

Doing a bit every day, this center plot is enormous. The dog lawn is just starting to come up in the front section. I had to stop, it poured last night, and there are too many spiders and other creepy crawlies in there today... After the center section is weeded, I'll do the perimeter, trying to figure out what is a plant I want to keep and what is a weed tree.
