100% Mixed Bluefaced Leicester Wool Top

2 x 4oz.

all this rain and cool air has inspired me to knit =) this wool is SO soft and beautiful hehe

This is a new base yarn for Wool Candy: fluffy soft sportweight Blue Faced Leicester, in "Vineyard".

A vibrant mix of wine reds, deep burgundy, plum and leafy greens. The greens blend with the reds to make branch-y browns.

wool and fabric plied with silver filiment

One underspun skeinlet, one decent single skein and one slightly overspun single skein.

First attempt at two ply using my woolee winder. Didn't quite come out as I had hoped.

Going to use this for my first attempt a dying wool.

Four, approximately 1/2 oz batts of luscious merino wool and cruelty-free silk I have hand dyed and carded on my Strauch drum carder, in crimson, purple, and soft pink. The silk gives a fun texture to the spun yarn, and a tweed look to the finished project.

I dyed it myself! Using kool-aid, 100g of beautiful natural wool and a steamer

Unknown brown wool from Llyn Payne's estate. Approx 500+ yards in 10oz

My first attempt at handspinning with a drop spindle, Feb-March 2006. This was a beautiful tri-color "pumpkin" wool roving. I only bought a tiny bit of it, so this skein is all I have-- I really love how it turned out, but haven't figured out what I can do with such a small amount of yarn.

This was merino that I had custom mixed by Linda at Grafton Fibers-it was a mostly pink mix with some yellows and oranges carded in. I don't think I have ever spun a softer fiber...
