Witch-hazel was another early bloom that we saw Saturday during the CBG photowalk. Our recent warm weather has led to early flowers. This was the first time my new camera used the flash with homemade drinking cup diffuser. I was glad to see that the TTL mode synced up correctly. Witches of Ellezelles.
Ellezelles is the center of "Pays des Collines", a landscape of hills in the southern part of Belgium where the ghost of Quintine de la Glisserie (a witch burned in 1610) is still wandering around.

Today we went to the Beacon Hotel ( www.gotothebeacon.com/maze.html ) and got lost in thier 16 acre corn maze titled "Pirates of the CariBeacon". The littlest one insisted on being the leader, and never looked at a map... We had a great time. Afterwards burgers, nachos, and hot apple cider while filled the lunch menu. Horse rides, a hay ride, bungee jump, climbing wall, face painting, etc kept us entertained for the rest of the afternoon.. It was a great time.. I heard a rumor they are extending it to next weekend.. Well worth the $6 to go.. If you are in for getting scared go Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night and see the life size Pirate ship go down in pyrotechnics while you get the crap scared out of you...
A spooky witch I built during short break I spent at home with my bricks. Been itching to do more Bionicle stuff, so here I am. It features a lot of weird geometry (for me, anyways) and is primarily a figure study--I was inspired to build this after thinking that Toa Metru torso would make good hips.
I was very happy to be able to use some pieces that I pretty much deemed useless and despised, such as the Inika head and hero factory armour (that make up the cheeks). Even managed to use the darn Av-Matoran as part of the torso, which I had always wanted to do.
This build made me realize how few lime green pieces I have, which is probably for the better (if you know, you know).
